After we sell 1,000,000 numbers we'll use an accurate date for the ending of the world for the winner...

Sound good? Ok send in the money... :D

Yes it is getting old but I would not let it bother me they can skip over the raffle posts just as much as we can skip over thier lame joke threads. They can complain and boycot the raffles all they want also ... it is not a problem obviously there is still plenty of intrest they all seem to sell out ...

Most of the ones complaining are just concerned that they may be missing out on selling one of thier cues. Or that this raffle idea may hurt what they can sell... It is hard to see how they can be concerned about the space the raffle threads take up when they are taking up as much if not more with some the complaining and joke threads...

Let em do what they will and have thier fun as it will grow old alot faster then the raffles will... Also ask yourself are the dealers on here complaining and posting all the joke threads people you want to do business with in the future or would you prefer to deal with those that will work with you and help you along ?

I am sorry to say, but this cue raffle is way overpriced, and once you get it in line with what I think(and my cronies..I mean my friends) the going rate on a Bushka is, then you might be lucky enough to get me to honor your raffle with my purchase of a ticket. But probably not, because I don't even know who this Bushka character is:rolleyes:

See how stupid this sounds, but it seems to be the norm on how to attack the raffles around here today. SO HOW IS THAT WORKING FOR YOU???

the only ones attacking the raffles are the losers too scared to admit it was a good idea, hey for the little gamble maybe youll get a great cue for a steal, its a chance but hey iull spend thousands at banquets on gun and print raffles and i have a blast, if you cant afford to look and take a shot go somewhere else and dont complain!!!!!

So you guys dont see that someone taking in lets say $1500, and they are gonna give away a $1,000 cue absurd. You think thats a good gamble and fun to be involved with. I dont sell cues, I'm not a dealer, but I agree thats its annoying seeing these joke raffles taking over the entire thread. Yes I could pass by them, just like you can pass what I say. But its my opinion that they should put these absurd things on a seperate thread.

overpriced yes!!! but if the average guy has a few bucks to take a chance on having a 1000 dollar plus cue, so be it, he has just a couple bucks invested, more power to the seller for makin it happen, its not a auction its a raffle!!!

you guys need to get a grip!!!!!

I would agree that $1500 for a 1K cue is absurd. The raffles I have seen so far have been in line with the value of the cue. I do not think an absurd example should be moved anywhere but off the board all together.

CAN ANYONE SHOW ME THE THREAD where a raffle has gone off with a $1000 cue, where the cost of the tickets was $1500? I would like to see that one, since I must have missed it. I do not remember seeing anything like that actually go through and work. That might change my perspective. I can't wait to see it - SHOW ME THE RAFFLE!!!

Jokes are no good if you have to 'splain'em, right Smorg..

Anyways, raffles IMHO are not a bad thing. But pity the fool that bought 750 bucks of raffle choices to win NADA. He could have bought a nice cue..

Will they ever get a separate thread???

You might be surprised to find I agree with you on that particular raffle. I am curious as to your opinion on the Ebony Franklin era SW.

I am glad you agree, now tell me if you think the SW deal is a good one that makes it okay. Who will decide which are rippoffs and which are not. I personally dont care either way. Just get them off here and if anyone wants to look through 20 to 30 or whatever ......they have someplace to go look

Why don't you just put the thread out there? If it is a ripoff, then there are no worries, and we will all agree. This pussyfooting around everything is the main reason why I find this place so enjoyable for entertainment. You can complain, but can't stick your neck out and just tell me the ripoff raffle that has got you angered.

Give me the facts!! I am too tired to guess, and feel that if you want to make statements then the cold hard facts are always the way to make your point. If I wanted to play a game, I'd be on POGO.

but as a single person i dont see the problem if you buy a chance for a resonable amount to get a good chance at a grerat cue? just forget the end money the seller gets! BOTTOME LINE IS THE INITAL INVESTMENT!

HELL IF IT WAS A 1-15 CHANCE FOR 10 DOLLARS AT A 150.00 DOLLAR CUE IT WOULD JUST BE A AUCTION!

WHO WILL DECIDE? Well, if the raffle fills up, and goes off, then I would say that anywhere from 19 - 42 people thought it was a good deal. Forum police are not needed - we have MODS for that. And commenting on the validity of a raffle price in open forum is as bad as commenting openly about somebody's price on a cue - IT IS IN POOR TASTE - and doesn't make either person (the seller or the commentator) look good. If something sells, then it must have been good for both the seller and the buyer - SOMETHING IS ONLY WORTH WHAT THE BUYER WILL PAY, AND THE SELLER WILL SELL IT FOR - PERIOD!!!!

And once again, the raffles are just another selling technique, that some people - both rafflers and entrants in the raffle - seem to be happy about. Sorry to see so many unhappy about it .

Hey Joe, What you got for $750? No, they will not.

A'int what I got.. I see plenty of cues around for 750.00 But since your asking...

George Weston has an olivewood 4 point cue for 750 that is nice... I think Mark will take that or less for that McDermott tourney cue lol..

most of the raffles i have seen seem to add a few dollars to the price of the cue.say the cue was for sale at $600 on AZ in the wanted/for sale section.then next week it gets raffled off,but instead of 12 $50 tickets, the guy is selling 13.it isn't a big deal, but it has been the main reason i haven't entered one, principle.

also you have to consider that $550 cash most likely would have bought the cue and now you are effectively paying $650.

most of the prices are very competetive on these auctions, but there always seems to be a little cushion built in there to me,unless my math has been wrong.on principle alone i have not enetered any of theses auctions even though i wanted to.

then some of the auctions are obviously out of line with regard to price, but more power to them if they can sell it.i have no problem with any of the auctions and whatever they want to ask for the tickets is fine ny me,but i do see where some people are coming from with their complaints as long as they do it in their own thread.

Its like buying a lottery ticket, you probably wont win and according to the probabilities and such, youre gonna lose more money than you win. The same is true for going to a casino, but people still do it because theres the chance that you win something for much less than its worth, even though on the whole, most people will lose their money. So let everyone gamble away.

I am sure glad this is the 1st and last cue I raffle. What is
so bad about it ? Theses knuckle heads keep saying its bad
blah blah blah .I have played in 3 of them and did not win
(I wanted that damn Varney j/b) Its turning into a battle
on here .I am raffling my cue for less than what its worth
and even a little less than what I paid .I just dont use it
and tried to sell it , got alot of tire kickers and thought
hey this will make someone out of 19 real happy for a $35
chance
