It appears Arnold is the next Calif. governor.
75% of Californians think he'll win it.

If Jesse 'The Body' Ventura can be elected governor in Minnesota, then I think anything is possible. I was in the Minneapolis airport a few years ago and they were selling t-shirts that said "My governor can beat up your governor".

No comment on this.... hahaha..... There might be some local politicians reading this thread. I don't want to incriminate myself.
I never voted for the guy, but for whatever its worth the former actor was also a Mayor, Senator, VP then President now Prisoner

Pls. do not compare Arnold to the other clowns.
Arnold is the epitomy of work hard to get what you want.
Work hard to chase your dream.

You want a guy who's only qualification is as an actor [ a very poor one at that] and that he has big muscles .
Can you see him doing McBeth ? Hamlet ?
Larry Flint worked hard , or not . He took a bullet for his beliefs .
RR, GW and now the Terminator.
Doesnt intelligence count when voting for a candidate.

If it did, Joe Davis should have never been a governor.
All he did was badmouth his opponents.
Dany Quayle became a V.P. He was dumber than a post.
Loretta Sanchez ain't got a brain between her eyes either.

Don't forget Dubya. There has never been a more stupid man in the White House. He's done more in 3 years to damage foreign relations then anybody in history. It's so bad now that it may never get fixed. Who the hell voted for this guy?

I totally agree with you Adana. The man is a walking disaster. Actually, I think he's just a puppet for Cheney and the rest of Corporate America. It's going to take years to repair some of the damage he's caused, I doubt we'll ever fix all of it.

The guy has a business degree, and will have picked up plenty about politics sice marrying into the Kennedys.
He transformed himself from normal person to Mr Universe with comparatively minimal steroids, went from not acting while being filmed in some Hercules thing to beimg relatively good, another huge leap forward.
The guy sees what he wants, works his nuts off, and excells.
And he's had plenty of time to prepare his political skills by now.
I'm sure he's in far better shape for the job than Bush - who's only qualifications are an honorary degree for being someone's son, and an honorary presidency for.. oh, being someone's son.
Hell, the guy didn't even win the election!

Pin,
Arnold is running for the Governor of California, not the President of the US. He couldn't run for the presidency if he wanted to. You have to be a naturalized citizen to run for the President.
Outside of that, I agree with what you said about Bush. TAP TAP
Yeah, but it seemed like the comparison was worth a mention.
As for presidency...
If Arnie were to be a success, and but for nationality would be a potential frontrunner, maybe a republican in his second term (though I'm sure Bush (if he gets one) would be too soon) could conceivably change legislation to permit it.
You never know...

It's part of the Constitution so I seriously doubt it would be changed. I don't know Arnold that well so I don't know what kind of politician he'd be. He's almost a liberal Republican because he beleives in a woman's right to choose abortion and he's not against gay rights. This would not help him with the conservatives in the Republican Party. They are a powerful group too. They almost got away with taking Clinton down for adulterous behavior when most of them engaged in the same type of behavior.

Rick, Clinton was impeached for lying not adultery. He lied under oath.
He sold our technology to China. That's treason if you ask me.

Well, I understand what you're saying about the lying thing. When you say he sold our technology to China and that's treasonous, I have to counter with the fact that Bush has lied numerous times about why we needed to attach Iraq:
1. No WMD
2. No Al Quaida link
3. No nuclear materials bought from Africa
And, he has put us in jeopardy:
1. He called Iraq, Iran and N Korea the "evil triumverant"
2. He disregarded the UN rules by attacking Iraq and could be considered a war criminal
3. He has made America the most villified country in the world
4. He has our military stretched so thin we are at risk
5. He wants to spend 87 billion dollars in Iraq while our country is at risk because our borders are porous and we do not have the intelligence agencies to cope with all the supposed threats from Iraq and Osama Bin Laden.
6. Our country's infrastructure is a shambles. Our school buidings, for the most part are a disaster.
Do I need to go on? What is more treasonous, selling some technology to China or single-handedly ruining our country and Social Security. I hope you're not counting on SS benefits because there won't be any in a few years.

Rick, I didn't say I condone what GW has done so far.
We did bomb Iraq in 1998, so there was a reason to bomb Iraq again but this time the people wanted it finished.
Selling our technology to communist China is a flat out treason to me. Taking campaign contributions from them is skating the thin line too.
Do you consider China a threat?

Joseph Cues,
We're not going to be done in Iraq for a long time thanks to GW. As for selling technology to China, I'm missing something. We have trade agreements with China don't we? China wasn't one of the countries GW included in that "evil trumvirant" was it? All I know is, under Clinton we had a so called surplus (I disagree with that). Now we are back into the defecit big time. Thanks George!
