Man... that dvd has everything in it. Knowing now what I saw, I would've payed twice as much to purchase that set of dvd. I got the dvd a week ago and I just finished watching it today. There are two things that come to mind when watching that set. Shane is a MONSTER. Second day, Shane looked like the BEST pool player I have ever seen. His break (Oh man) ,tempo, stroke, pattern play, etc... it was pure art. Ken Schuman was talking about how good pool players have different gears. I think that dvd showed 8 gears for Shane. The second thing I like to mention is how Alex kept on showing heart every day. First day... Shane goes to a 13 game lead, Alex cuts the lead to around 5. Second day Shane goes to a TWENTY TWO game lead, and again Alex cuts it to 7. For such a small guy, the dude packs so much heart and game. After watching this set, both these guys have definitely earned my top 5 favorite players of all time. I sort of wish Shane could've pulled it together in the end. You kinda knew Alex won by Shane's demeanor when it was 95-92 Alex. Props for both players and I hope for more sets to come.

A friend or 2 was at the match live. And one comment was the best pool he has ever watched bar none- his team finnish 2nd in the nationals. But two stooges was the national winner for both league final-bca m-8 or apa I dont pay much atttention to the amueture stuff. Minnesota teams finnishing 1,2 Winning both tournements for teams was never done till now. And hopefully will never be done again. The great Ohio teams won like 4 yrs in a row ,or something. mark

Shane is such a machine he almost gets boring to watch. luckly Alex's comebacks really picks it up . I'd have to say Shane has a little trouble closing out a match against Alex.
Alex has far more experince than Shane and it shows as Alex's thinking, position and saftey play are amazing! Best DVD set I ever bought!

IMNSHO, there was one thing that Alex did that Shane didn't that made the whole difference. Alex ate something. Shane didn't. We mentioned it probably too many times on the commentary, but it looked very obvious.

Alex's comebacks were always after he got a banana, fruit, or whatever in him. At the end of the last game, Shane immediately got something to eat (a banana?). I think he was pretty hungry for several hours trying to close out each day.

The pool itself was beyond phenomenal. And if you could have seen the conditions of the balls after all the heavy play, it would be even more impressive how well they shot.

Fred, which did you mention more during the DVD: The food, or the "changing of the balls"? And which was a bigger mistake?

Hmmm.... I think I mentioned the food more. Ken saw the balls every time he went to the table, so he must have mentioned the balls more. I didn't see just how bad the balls were until the end of the match.

I love Adam "The Sleeves" Behnke's commentary .. he's really funny guy. Love his depressed "wow" everytime Alex makes a great shot/break on the table.

Just finished first day .. Shane had Alex 29 -19 ... "HAD" .... before Alex caught gear ... The Sleeve's commentary during this stretch when Alex ran 4 or 5 pack was pretty funny.

Yeah I think eating a snack helped boost Alex up a bit. When you play 3 or 4 hours, you can work up an appetite real fast. I don't know if it's just me, but it's hard for me to play real well when I got an empty stomache. To be honest with you, I really don't think Shane lost because he was hungry or needed some snacks. Shane was always a few games out from closing each day with a huge game advantage. Shane just couldn't close it out. I think on those few days, he lacked the killer instinct a pool player needs. I don't want to take anything away from Alex cause he played with everything his body could give, but Shane should've closed the deal. When you watched the second day when Shane was putting huge packages, he was a man possessed. His play was fantastic. A man with that much skill shouldn't be blaming himself for not eating a piece of fruit. I think it must of been something mental in his head combined with Alex's play.

Thats a true statment, it is an awesome match, great play, shot selection, swings in momentium etc. Its also cheap if you figure how many hours there for what it costs. I'm gonna buy it my self.

Great stuff. I just got through watching Day 2. Shane is a monster and Alex just has that gambler's heart. Even though I know who won, this is fantastic stuff.

I was at the event and watched almost all of it live, but I still bought the DVD's.

There is so much more you can see watching it on DVD and being able to go back and see the shots again is great!

This is a match between two of the best players on the planet! Well worth double the price!
