I know (only well enough to get in contact with him) one of the best retired three point shooters of the NBA, but considering while he played he averaged over $300,000 a week I doubt he'd be interested. Most players are cocky, but have been around long enough to know there is always someone who works harder and will be better.

However, if 1on1 is serious enough, I can make the contact and see. I feel like this could go down if they had a chance encounter and the bet was made, but I doubt he'd lace up again and travel to make less than he does in interest.

i bet you are right, those who are used to making more in 2 hours than MOST people make in a year usually dont waste time on small stuff. but then again, you dont see this kind of offer very much and it almost makes you think that deep down those so called superstars are afraid they have the smallest percent of a chance to lose to someone and dont want to hurt their ego or reputation. this was posted once before and no one took it so i am thinking yes 1on1pooltourneys is serious.

I don't care if it's Lebron James, or Larry Bird from the 80's!! The window is open to anybody in the United States, period. We have tried to match up with NBA players and they get real offended. One past 3 point champ that played with the Pacers actually went balistic when he was asked to shoot our guy for big money!! But, if anybody knows anybody that wil bet a minimum of 10k, college 3's, they have action!

i once heard of a guy from over around Tulsa that would shoot baskets. dont know if it was 3 ptrs or free throws and all i ever heard was a nick name. actually now that i think about it this guy was kinda old several years ago......might not even be around anymore.

I made 67% and got throttled by Wu for about $3500. I played college ball and led our conference in 3 point %. Wu is pretty deadly from behind the arc. I told him I'd spot him playing 1 on 1 but he didn't want any. Nice guy though. He also won a world series bracelet this year and over 600K.

Strong arm has a friend that shoots three's for the chedder I thought I had them trapped with a former world record holder shooting ft's, and NBA 3's in 24 hours. He puts up between 80-90%+ in NBA 3's and I seen him hit 88,86,94 when he showed me his college 3's talent. Too bad he got a detached retina he still wants to try, but he is no where near his form

Who knows. Some people just can't take losing and are dickheads in general. Look at what they did to Roy Munson's hand!:wink: I have no idea how that happened with the guy's retina, but doubt I am right.

Why college 3's instead of pro?

I'd have to think there are a lot of shooting specialists out there who shoot as good or better than any NBA player. Probably some 5'4" guy with no chance of playing real ball who makes 94% of NBA 3's, 70% if he banks them in.

I'd rather watch guys have to shoot random shots than any one set shot. Maybe a deck of cards that has different court locations on it.

Wasn't there some guy who had a ball return on the hoop who sat and shot 1000 free throws with the ball getting kicked back to him so he could keep a rhythm? Made 990 out of 1000 or something stupid.

there was a guy from up here in chicago that used to bet he could bounce 30 out of 50 3s in. i think he was from the hyde park area and might have went to the university there. i never did know his name but saw him several times but i think hes dead now cause he was an older guy years ago.
