I had my first lesson with Shawn last evening. Very enjoyable. It was obvious that he was very knowledgeable and professional. Seemed easy for him to get across to me what he was showing me in terms that I understood right away. Reasonably priced and was not a clock watcher. Seemed like he enjoyed teaching. Highly recommended.

Thank you Shawn

P.S. I know that my regular teacher Fred McCann reads this forum. I've mentioned him before on the forum but I can't make this post without mentioning Fred again who has helped me so much and is a very good teacher as well in all the respects I mentioned above. Fred was very enthusiastic about me seeing Shawn as well.

Are you left handed? Putnam plays left handed right? I was just wondering if it's always better to try to find an instructor who plays with the same hand as you.

I don't know if it is an issue or not, but I am left handed and both Shawn and my regular teacher are both left handed. In both cases it was just coincidence.

Just a little update. You may or may not remember that little adjustment you made to my back hand position. Well, it took a while, but I just can't thank you enough. We are talking new level here and I attribute it mostly to that change. It was tough though. Talk about getting worse before getting better! Whew!
Thanks again
JR

JR:

Can you share the details of the change he made to your grip hand with us? That would be great. Thanks!

Maybe if you change your Avatar so that I don't get charged with sexual harrasement for looking at the board at work. ;)

I changed my avatar (last night in fact), but caught flak from other members for doing so... so 'The Body' is back...

Ok, just for a little while....
