Quite a break I watched on Xtreem Billiards web site. I also have the X Breaker.

I seem to do better on the break if I put my back hand just a little farther back on the cue than I normally would have it. I guess you could say, 'if It's working, don't fix it'. But I just wondered if you think there is any real merit to this or is it just in my head?

Thanks
JR

Thank you for the compliment about my break.
Obviously, there are several variables that contribute to a powerful and consistent break. In particular, IMO is the timing of the body at the moment of contact with the cue ball. Also, what I teach is to keep the back hand close to the body at the moment of contact (almost hitting the ribs). If you carefully watch my break, you will see this in action. As far as keeping the back hand up or down the butt, I believe it really depends on how much body and/or arm you're using to contribute energy to the shot.
