What kind of glue do you guys use to adhere the rubber to the rails?

I found a water-based that works like a charm. 3M-Scoth Grip 30NR

I have used alot of differnt glues. You can use the yellow wood glue but you have to really be carefull with it and you have to tape the rubber up when it is drying. Barge contact cement works really good and you can order it from Mullers. I use 3M but it is very hard to get. I am always trying new glues to see if I can find something better.

Have you tried 3M Scotch Grip NR-30? If not pm me with your address. I have some I can send. When I find it available I buy alot.

I use 3M Scotch Grip 1357. I talked to a 3M rep and told them what I was doing and they said that the 1357 would work the best. You have to use a resirator when using it. I am in California and good glues and paint are getting harder to get because of the EPA. I am going to pick up some 30 and compare the two.

Yeah try it out... I havent tried the 1357 so let me know what you think.

When I first used the 30 I thought I had wasted $ for sure. I developed a fast process that works really good with this water based glue. It sets up much faster then 30 minutes.

After lightly sanding the subrail I spread a thin coat and let it absorb. Then apply a generous coat to the subrail and a thin coat on the canvas. I usually have a bunch of glue at the top and bottom that is easily wiped up with a combination (wet/dry) paper towel. Let me know how it compares.
