""Filipino pool players and fans are eager to see Schmidt play in the world pool tournament in Manila because he eliminated three top RP players at the US Open: Antonio Gabica, Ronato Alcano and Rodolfo Luat. Mr. 400 could be the real thing.""
This above statement is great..........even tho another country wants their players to win they appreciate sooo much.........great talent, and its shown by the above statement about John. Because the Phillipine's have become so appreciative of this great game (Efren, Busta, Parica) they truly enjoy seeing great talent from another, its a great testatment how people/fans feel about the combatants and their skill when they go at it one on one. Its not soccer with bloodshed at times and caos its appreciation of anothers skill, stamina, creativeness, character and so much more. I wouldn't be surprised if John runs 400 again before he goes overseas. John, have fun I look forward to your chances, and your opponent should not look forward to seeing you at his table.

....your opponent should not look forward to seeing you at his table.
On the contrary, players here are looking forward to playing a great champion like John. What will be better than to gage ones skill against a proven great competitor?

I agree, I just appreciate how your countrymen appreciate and acknowlege anothers skill, it compliments you all. We in the US appreciate Efren and what he's brought to the sport, like Mosconi, Greenleaf and Hoppe did during our coutries beginning. You are very fortunate to have players with such talent. As spectators in the Phillipines it must be very addictive watching the up and comers knock on the doors of their peers.

And we are thankful for that. What heights can be reached if appreciation and its recognition didn't transpire? The Philippine culture and society gave birth to an Efren Reyes but the world and most specially the USA made him a legend.
You are very fortunate to have players with such talent.Yes we are, thank you. Efren is a natural then honed with the determination brought about by poverty.
As spectators in the Phillipines it must be very addictive watching the up and comers knock on the doors of their peers.
Yes it is but frankly, the attendance at the last pool event was a little disappointing yet understandable. Disposable income dropped due to economic hardship, and yes we do realize that the economic hardship is world encompassing. Realizing such, a few of us have taken the initiative to assist these up and comers. http://www.worldpoolchampionship.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2975&whichpage=1

I have had the pleasure of watching john play in person and I knew then he has what it takes to beat anyone in the world. It should be noted that john does not play as much as these guys and he still bested them. I like his chances to be the first American to win an IPT event if it is still around next year. Oh yeah please do not post a reply saying sigel was the first to win an IPT event.
