Is it possible to get Artemis cushions for a GCIII? I understand that the Gold Crown III requires K-55 cushions, and I've been unable to locate Artemis K-55's on the web. If Artemis isn't available in a K-55, what K-55 cushions do you recommend? Thanks.

The Artemis Intercontinental 66 is the same as a K-55, I beleive the only way to get them is thru Diamond directly.

Doubt this will help unless you can read German.

Don't let Diamond fool you... Going off of the shape they show oin their website, I would say every set of Artemis I've bought has been the intercontinental 66. Which has a larger base than a typical K66 rail cushion. I replaced cushions on a GCII with the same cushion and it played great.

Thanks for the help. Sure is a confusing topic though. The Artemis intercontinentals pictured on their website (http://www.artemis-kautschuk.de/en/Produkte/Billiard.html)actually look to have a smaller base than their "K66 Pool" cushions, even though K55's have a larger base. But if you say you've used them on a GCIII and it works good, I believe you. Thanks again.

Yep, I probably have pics somewhere... The table played great. Simonis and Artemis is a good combination.

I put Artemis K66 rubber on my GC III and it plays very well along with the Simonis 860 cloth.
Here is the link to Muellers where I got the cushions: http://www.poolndarts.com/p-3778-Artemis-Pool-No-Rubber/

Sure hope no one at Diamond suggested we were the only place the Intercontinal Artemis cushion could be purchased.......... If something like this happened I'd personally like to know. We're definitely not trying to fool anyone....We at this time are using the Intercontintal instead of the K66 Artemis as it provides the proper rail hight on our old as well as new tables............. The construction of our rail would have to change to support the K66 Artemis and maintain the 1 29/64ths height we prefer....The gold crown could probably use the Intercontinal also, however I've never tried this....We only last week make a table de signed to use the K66 Artemis and we're going thru testing... The fact is the K66 is much cheaper and more readily availible than the Intercontinal....However, they don,t play the same....I can't say at this time which I prefer.......Greg/Diamond

Greg, The only reason I said that was because I have heard that on several occasions. Thanks for your input and I hope to see you at the derby, again!!!

Greg, I have a 1994 9ft pro diamond. The rails need replaced. Can you tell what rubber is on them and what should I replace with? Thank you, Earl Timmons

The only place I know where to get the Intercontintal #66 in the US is from Diamond. If anyone knows of somewhere else to get it from, let me know.
Artemis Intercontintal #66 is a billiard table profile. Most billiard table manufactures use this profile on thier tables. The profile is very differnet than the pool #66 profile. If you use the Artemis pool #66 on Gold Crowns the rubber will be at the high side of where the rubber should be. If you put it on wrong it could be as much as .125" high. The attachment angle to the rail is different between the two profiles. Belive me, I have done alot of tables with pool #66. I have also used the Intercontintal on a few tables. The overall profile of the Intercontintal is overall bigger than the pool #66 and is very close to the k55 profile. when you put the Intercontintal on a Gold Crown, the rail height comes out very close to being right on and the conture of the rail feels right, When you use the pool #66 the rubber comes up from the rail because it is supost to be mounted at a differnt angle. Also useing smaller cushions will change the dimensions of the playing field of the table.

Steve,
I'm not 100% sure, but you can try Imperial-JS at 201-288-9199... It's too late now or I would call before posting this....But I did hear that Imperial sold the Artemis.....However they have now merged with JS Sales and things may have changed......Greg/Diamond........If I find somewhere else I'll post again!kno
update: Just talked to Chad. He said it's been a while, but he knows Imperial is or was the US distributors for the Artemis..Their phone # 800-526-6261...We buy direct.....Hope this helps!

Greg,
They only stock the k66 for pool tables. They stock the Intercontintal #66 cut for billiard tables but thier price is way out of line to use for pool tables. I would much rather deal with Diamond than deal with Imperial. I try to only use them as a last resort, and I am only 20 min. away from them. Way to hard to deal with.

Steve,
I know what you mean on the price...We needed a few extra sets for a tournament...whew...It's still very expensive buying volume direct, but I'm stuck...I like the way it plays!! Greg/Diamond
