I'd just have to stay away from the pool rooms. How disheartening it would be to be one of the best in the world and just get pounded on by unknowns. I'd only go after I was out of the tournament.
What other place in the world can champion after champion get barked at like they are suckers?

Back in the Philippines, all they respect is the almighty moolah. Nothing more,
nothing less. You have to be on your toes everytime, or else some unknown
will just rob you blind.
They're playing to put food on their table. It's just like a matter of life or
death for them. And the Filipinos treat pool as art, not a sport, just like
their flowery stroke, treating their cuestick like a Stradivari...

These sentences contradict themselves. Most artists starve for the love of their art.
