A question for the Pool Community when playing pool anywhere:

If you see someone put their drink on a pool table,
do you kindly ask them not to put their drinks on the table?

I do.

No, I don't work there.
Do I need to be an employee to make someone mindful to do the right thing or should I
"mind my own business"?

At the rooms here where I live and play, yes.

Anywhere else no, tho I might bring it to the attention of the staff.

Every day and twice on Sunday. Growing up in a poolroom, it's a huge pet peeve of mine. I'll say it nice, like whoa, the owner will throw you out for that, or to re-cloth the table is $400, so might wanna put the drink on the table.

Yeah thats about as far as Id take it. I agree. Nothing grates my nerves worse that someone putting drinks, food or letting some kid slam balls around before they even stop, but sometimes you just got to know what not to say.

What if a massive tattooed person, face tats, lays his cigar on the rail

I seen it at slick Willie's

Home tables are damn near off limits to my family, no players just bangers that try and sit beers on the bed,

Yes, I figure a way to say something no matter where I'm at.

I will say something every time and do it in away that will not start a fight. I also warn people when they sit on a rail. I do have a friend who puts the chalk upside down on the rail....I have not been able to break him of this.:(

I can see a woman saying this nicely to a man, but all in all it's best to point it out to management or the owner. Some rooms have female and male servers that can be just as effective if done with respect.

I think that anyone stupid enough and so disrespectful of property to do this in the first place is not a good candidate to take even a polite rebuke well. Therefore I would tip off an employee to take care of the problem and not get myself into a possible confrontation. Just my $.02.

Hi I.D.!

I was one of two last tables in a room last night-

Management and an employee were just one table away from BIG guy and his girlfriend and didn't notice.

I'm across the room, I see his beer bottle on the table and I say "Please take your bottle off of the table"

Now Mgmt and employee look up and see and concur.

I go to replace house cues on the wall, and guy says to me "Do you work here?"
Me: "No, I'm a friend of the owner though"
He replaces the beer bottle back onto the bed of the table and says
"Good for you, you should mind your own business"

I say "no way" and go to the counter, then the restroom.
I come out, both are gone.
smh...

Which both big guy and girl or mngt and employees?

Mgmt and employee have since stepped away from the guys table and into another room as I replace the house cues and BIG guy said the previous, which caused me to step out to the counter area, and tell the employee about the 2nd placing of the bottle onto the bed of the table ( also bathroom )
