Five seconds is all it took. I lined up my shots, took five seconds to visualize the shot happening, approached the shot and got down over it, kept the visualization at the forefront of my mind while taking practice strokes, and made the shot happen.

Neither are instructors, but one has the knack for it.

The first teacher is someone who has been trying to teach me for 6 years. This teacher will more often than not teach while we're playing. He'll say something like "Now why did you shoot it like that??" and then verbally tell me the way I should have shot. Inevitably this leads to me getting annoyed, insulted, and distracted.

The second teacher will watch me silently for about 20 minutes before coming...

The evening before this tournament I watched some of the John Schmidt/Danny Harriman DVDs to get myself in the right frame of mind. I went to sleep around 9pm after setting my alarm for 6:25am.

I didn't have to set the alarm. My son woke me up at 5:45am (probably due to the molars working their way into his little baby gums) so I showered and got cleaned up. My hair was being extra difficult so I forced it into submission with some extra-hold hair spray. Please don't hate. I have...
