    "Schon" pronunciation

Everyone from my college days to present have always mispronounced it as "shawn" lol.

    Easiest Way to Load Pictures

That's a fair point. I originally used Photobucket.com to host images, but when they started charging, I moved all images to imgur.com, and the latter has been free for the last 7+ years thanks to hosting ads. The main advantage of 3rd party sites is the ability to host much larger, high...

    Easiest Way to Load Pictures

I just host the images on imgur.com as hidden, then post links here. This allows you to control images even after being uploaded.

your paying too much for cues

That's why I didn't use the word "cheap." The 1978 dollar is now worth $4.79 today according to the inflation calculator at 3.46% inflation rate, which would make that 1978 Gus cue's list price at $3736.20 for 2024. However, Gus Szamboti's name now commands well beyond that asking price today.

    Anyone have a Segen?

The green material is malachite, and the white inlays look like genuine ivory. It has 5 floating ebony points. Here is a more recent image:

your paying too much for cues

It might help if you provide some Cliff Notes for such individuals -- this thread has ballooned to 9+ pages. Cues used to be a lot less expensive -- an inlay loaded 8-point Gus was priced at $780 back in the 1970's. I can't even guess what a cue like that in good condition would fetch today.

    Anyone have a Segen?

Ah bummer. sorry to hear. I believe my 2005 Schon CX61 is from Evan's era. I had not used it in years, but after last week's table time, I'm glad I did not make the mistake of selling it.

your paying too much for cues

Frankly I like good looking cues that also hit well. Sure, a good house cue will still get the job done, but when a cue is both a looker and a performer, you get the best of both worlds, so why settle when you don't have to?

    Anyone have a Segen?

Does Segen do custom cue commissions? Just curious...

your paying too much for cues

This is the same reason I do not bring my cues on any flight since they cannot be carried on the plane and must be checked as baggage. TSA hired a bunch of head count without any background checks, and those guys have been repeatedly busted over the years stealing goods with police installed...

Steve Edwards your cue is finished...

Love these gambler designs :) Easily one of the best I've seen in a while.

your paying too much for cues

I chose my cues based on both aesthetics and hit quality... must look good and hit better :) Having a higher budget just increases your options, but so long as you get a good cue, you win.

Top custom cue makers who's cues appreciate over time.

Yeah, many newer players are gravitating towards production cues with lower deflection shafts given the lower price point and excellent value. I am also guessing that the ivory ban also limits sales of older fancy cues with said inlays at certain locations, not to mention raises issues with...

Weight difference between Irish linen and leather wraps?

I'm a big fan of textured gator skin... excellent tactile feel and grip compared to Irish linen. Haven't tried any stacked wraps yet, but its appearance isn't very clean compared to other wraps.

    Schon CX10

This one is my old 2005 Schon CX61: Reminds me of Mike Siegel's cue line. EDIT: Better image:
