I agree the Z2 feels very dead, especially on a Schon butt, I shaved my Schon shaft down to 12 mm and I like it way better than the z2 now...

I'm thinking about getting a custom cue for either myself or as a Christmas present for my girlfriend. Not looking to spend too much in it, but I would like to know who makes nice cues at a decent price. Any help appreciated.

To me it all depends on what you are looking for in a break cue. I just use an old action jump break sneaky that I got off of a guy for $65. Breaks like hell and it is still a great jump cue also.

I don't think so, It cant be any worse than a 12 mm Meucci, that shaft bounces like crazy and puts a ton of spin on the cue ball. I mean the tip on there before I got it seemed to play quicker than the kamui I have on it now.

Yeah that schon shaft is a good shaft, but it has a huge amount of deflection, but that Z shaft hits awesome just limited action compared to that Meucci. I like moving the ball when I need to, and that Z shaft just wont move it the way I like. I have a Kamui Medium on it but thinking about...

I have just went back to shooting with my Meucci hook, I found out that no cue moves the ball around a9 foot table in my hands like that cue. My Schon/predator shaft is great on those small 7ft tables, but that Whippy Meucci is the best feeling on the 9 footer to me. I have not took it to do...
