Has anyone overcome a gambling addiction for pool?

Haha I never heard that story unfortunately. Would love to hear that someday. He sure did have a way with words. He almost ruined Mexican food for me forever. One night we were discussing where to go for dinner: Arnie: Where do you want to go eat? Me: Dos Burritos Arnie: I don't eat...

    314-2 question

Follow-up question, is there another LD shaft that performs like the 314-2 and is available in the smaller size (12.3-12.45) ?

Has anyone overcome a gambling addiction for pool?

"Recovering from a pool gambling addiction has any done it?" I have. But I would remove the word 'pool' from your question. In my early twenties (early 80s), I bet football with the bookies at the pool hall, played in ring game where I was the fish, and then the Bicycle club opened in...

    314-2 question

Hi all, quick tech question. I have a 314-2 uniloc shaft I've been playing with, bought it second hand with a lucasi hybrid butt. I'm looking to get a backup 314-2 but all I can find is 12.75mm tip diameter. The 314-2 that I have measures 12.42 at the ferrule. Did someone turn this shaft...

how you get treated by your league teammates

Sounds like fun, I'm sure they were just messing with you. Most fun I ever had in leagues was a team I was on in 2006. We used to have a standing bet, first guy to lose a game payed everyone else's league fees that night. Made for some good pool and also some of that similar ribbing.

I was lucky to randomly go into a barbershop last time I was in Vegas and have Gaetano “Guy” Benza call me over to the chair. He is now 91, and as it turns out a WWII veteran and was serving at Omaha beach. The stories he told me during my shave went from bone chilling to emotional and...

    Sky vs. Jesse

Haven't seen him out in Vegas at the VNEA in a couple of years. He used to be the guy to beat, but I suppose he grew tired of beating us. :D In any case, I can't imagine anyone but SVB being a favorite against Jesse. Oh wait, playing on a Diamond I suppose Daz would have the edge too.

any ideas on how to slow down and staying down on shots?

This, In my mind I like to compare a good pool stroke to a baseball pitcher's windup and delivery. On the backstroke, I'm thinking to pull the cue back to the same spot every time. After that, the thinking stops. RE: The Mosconi video, anyone notice the blatant sharking at 2:15 ?

    Best commentator in pool

+1 on Jay. Dude knows his stuff and doesn't try to force anything. Just watched the SVB vs. The Lion race to 21 from DCC in 2008 (for $6, thx TAR). The commentary on that one is an example of my least favorite thing in commentary, when people's ego start them to arguing over shots. I almost...

Denver, I used to think pool players are lucky.

My good friend and teammate Adam King won it. Had to come from B side to double dip, his last three matches all went hill-hill and he won every one of those games. Just incredible considering we were playing 9ball on a bar box. All I can say for how I finished is if you ain't first you're...

    Who is coming to Denver?

24 pros and 128 amateurs. Best turnout on the amateur side I've ever seen. They have to play the last third of the first round this morning at 8AM !
