The biker fight in Waco made me wonder

But he only implied that you wouldn't dare call these people bullies to their faces, because they would probably gang up on you and respond with violence? Ahh, wait, I guess he did kinda just make your exact point for you without realizing it. I guess I can see how some people might struggle to...

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

1-1 in Corey's game, now a race to three!

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

No problem! It looks like some other matches have ran over time, but Corey should still be up soon.

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

Corey's first match kicks off 20 minutes, 8pm CEST. First to 4 frames goes through to the next round. Not sure if there will be any stream, but live scores are available here: http://livescores.worldsnookerdata.com/LiveScoring/Tournament/13819/q-school-2015-event-1?pos=779

Corey Deuel Battles To Get On Snooker Tour

Interesting shot! Would be nice to see the layout of the table to see all of his options. I thought it could just have been a case of Corey taking an opponent lightly; obviously he's too smart to be shooting such low-percentage shots as I described when he's giving it 100%. Thanks for the...

Corey Deuel Battles To Get On Snooker Tour

Was it like this? http://www.fcsnooker.co.uk/images/coaching/advanced/doubles/cocked_hat_double.jpg This would be fine if he was on the last black, and got a good cue ball, but you say the table was crowded? If he was playing the black off three cushions (this or any other way) and getting...

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

No doubt! His attitude to learning new things is very cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVI2oaNq6E8 https://www.facebook.com/universalpooleague/posts/10205639046357595 Looking at this video, compared to the one linked in the first post of this thread, it seems like he's a lot more...

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

You do realise we were talking about Alex Pagulayan, right? http://www.snooker.org/res/index.asp?event=330 He was two frames away from qualifying, losing the final match 4-2. The only way he could possibly have been closer is if he lost in the deciding frame of the final match, 4-3 rather...

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

Which is a completely separate discussion from his attempts to qualify for the tour through Q School. You said he wasn't close, and he clearly was. Just to be clear.

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

He got to the last 16 of the first event, which meant he was two wins away from qualifying from the tour. Second event he played a match for a spot. Not a long way off at all. This isn't to say that he could compete on the tour, but he came pretty close to qualifying for it and this isn't really...

Corey Deuel signed up for Q School (snooker)

Corey has his name down to play in the upcoming tournaments (next month) to qualify for the pro snooker tour: http://www.worldsnookerqschool.com/order-of-merit Here's the only video I know of featuring Corey actually playing snooker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXipRG6oaNU Check out his...

    Could Ronnie O'sullivan do it

Not sure how you meant this, but the way it's written is certainly misleading: a 147 is not the only way to clear all the balls on a snooker table, it's just one kind of total clearance taking only blacks. Here is a 128 total clearance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgxWd0djt5I He still pots...

    Greatness

Goes well with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t08NMLdaRvs I think once you've played snooker, you will never stop being confused when you watch O'Sullivan play at his best. It's like he's playing a different game than everyone else in the world. Here's a relatively recent video...

Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

Few things: Alex cannot reasonably be seen to represent other top-tier pool players in terms of his snooker ability. He has a snooker background that none of the rest have, and this is why he is by far the best snooker player in professional pool. If you actually want to make a case for the...

Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

Alex plays Oliver Brown next. I've never heard of him before, so that's a good sign. Alex has to win that match, then two more and he'll have earned his two-year professional tour card. It's gonna get a lot tougher in the next couple of rounds, but he's done all he had to do so far!

Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

Good comeback from Alex, winning the last three frames! He won't keep getting this many chances each frame, hopefully when he runs into stronger opposition he can raise his game and start making some bigger breaks. He'll be relieved to have gotten through this match, though. Maybe that will spur...

Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

I'm guessing the match ran over time, I think it's happened in the tournament already. Most likely they'll be back later today to finish the match.

Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

The situation isn't really clear-cut, and different players play it different ways. A common shot is to cut the black roughly half-ball to leave black on the middle of the side cushion, and the white on the opposite side cushion. This sometimes leaves a double, but never really sells out an easy...

Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

If the frame ends with the scores tied the black ball is respotted, there's a coin toss and the winner chooses either to play from the D, or put their opponent in. Pot the black to win, foul on the black = loss of frame.

Alex Pagulayan going to UK to try pro snooker

Alex pulls one back! 3-2 behind now. Needs to start scoring more from his chances if he's gonna make it much further in this tournament though. And also to make things less stressful for his supporters...
