    Seating at US Open 9B

They've had tiered seating around the tv table. The lower tiers had a tables in front of the seats. For 2016 I'm told but haven't seen it confirmed yet that the tiers will remain but the tables, except for the first (floor) level, will no longer be there. Sent from my 6045O using Tapatalk

CTE Pro One Visual Sweep versus Manual Pivot

Is the inside or outside sweep to center the same as the 1/2 tip sweep in or outside with a manual pivot to center? In other words, instead of manual pivot, am I to just sweep to the inside or the outside center of the shoot line from my perceived fixed CB to OB position along the 15, 30, 45, or...

Re-occuring problem with CTE, please help

That info on using 1/8 instead of 1/4 a & c on shots 12"s or less is good info. Thanks. Hadn't heard or read that before, but perhaps my memory just failed me as it's want to do from time to time.

Open Letter to Mr. Behrman re: US Open

Barry was apologetic about the seating in his (too) many nightly speeches before the 8:30 p.m. matches. Thing is, I've been hearing this every year from Barry since he moved out of the convention center. I heard on the grapevine he paid some unspecified "lot of money" to a consultant to design...

How come early 2010s Earl is better than late 90s-late 00s Earl?

I think Archer and Earl are probably way past fretting over being the best anymore. They already did that. They've got many other things going on in their lives now. But they both can still play at championship level and that's amazing on so many levels given the amount of pool talent worldwide...

Hypothesis: playing the tip you're used to is much mor important than any other mater

Beyond tip as my #1 pick (in agreement with the original poster), overall balance from tip to butt end ranks just about as high, in my humble opinion. For me, the weight of a cue is less important than that the weight is uniformly distributed throughout the stick length, not butt or front end...

Jamison Neu trick shots, and instructional Xtremepoolchallenge on Youtube

Nice trick shots quickly executed and explained. The jumping exercises and the banking explanations are pretty good too. Not bad. Not bad at all. Thanks for posting this.

    Tournaments around Alexandria va

You've got Lucy's pool hall and restaurant in Shirlington, right next to old town Alexandria. If there are local tournaments, they'll know something. Fast Eddie's in Springfield (south of old town just outside the beltway) has action on Sunday's. There's also a 9-ball tourney every Sunday...

Great stuff. It was great to see a pic of Stan 'Canadian Stan' Tourangeau in the mix. Looked to me like Dennis Orcullo is seated in the background.

Senimg Chen Won Her WPBA Qualifier

I was at the event that Senimg Chen won today. I also watched her for a number of hours on Friday as she practiced and got used to the tables and venue conditions. Her stroke is a thing of beauty. Her cue ball control is superb. I, and a bunch of the other crusty old guys watching her for the...

TOI and deep cuts from the rail

It was late when I posted my image and explanation. I meant to say I was focusing on the right edge (not the left as I wrote erroneously) of the object ball, as you so rightly highlighted. Thanks for clearing up the distance issue (body to the cue ball). As you mention, trust plays a big part...

TOI and deep cuts from the rail

Thanks for the info CJ. I got a chance to practice this shot (see the image below) a bit more today. I did get better at the shot the more I worked with it. Still on the iffy side though as far as consistency. Best result (i.e. pocketing the ball!) seems to come when I align center to center as...
