    Wood age?

Quartersawn wood is more stable when building furniture. When you turn something round it eliminates the quartersawn aspect.

    CORNERSTONE CUES BE WARE

What’s great is when you take a package to the post office, they print their own label, you buy insurance, the lose the package and it was never scanned and then they deny you any refund whatsoever. Happened to me more than once. Bunch of f@$king morons.

    Ivory handle with scrimshaw

I wish I had the talent to scrimshaw them myself like Bill does. If things were different and there was a bright future for utilizing that talent on my cues I’d try to learn. Have always admired Bill’s work. They play great too of course.

Ivory handle with scrimshaw part 2

These are two I built for a collection. Scrimshaw by Sandra Brady. I hope the pictures aren’t too large, sizing them correctly isn’t my forte. one cue is called Two Dragons. The other is The 60’s. Long time in production. Dragons cue is a one piece handle. I am the maker. Thanks for looking.

    Opinions on personal protection

We’re not wearing masks here in north Florida. I know of no one in the pool room where I play that has gotten it.

Not The Fanciest Cue In The World, But Is It The Rarest?

It doesn’t matter to me. I just noted what he stated in his letter. I doubt a cuemaker with his experience would make that mistake but I could be wrong. If you say the butt weighs 20 oz by itself then we’ll go with that.

Not The Fanciest Cue In The World, But Is It The Rarest?

Letter from Tascarella states the butt weighs 16.04 oz., not 20 lol

    Opinions on personal protection

After returning to cuemaking a few years ago I switched to a marine grade finish for my cues, it is called Awl Wood. Made by Awl Grip. I used it for some Burmese Teak front doors I built for a house some years back. It is by far the most durable finish I have ever used or seen. It will shine...

Sixteen New York state pool halls win temporary injunction to reopen

Anyone else think the inter state ivory ban is dumb?

So I guess nobody wants to see the ivory handle cues I’m building lol. Some states are so incredibly stupid they have even banned mammoth ivory. Worried those mammoths are gonna go extinct? I think it happened thousands of years ago.

    Eisenmeister wrap information wanted

In the older days I don’t think they gave much thought to deflection. Just remember it’s the Indian not the arrow. Example, once I was at a bar with a good friend who can play. I can play but this guy can really play, he used to play on the Florida pro tour. Anyway, we’re playing on a bar...

    Eisenmeister wrap information wanted

Laminated means gluing pieces of wood together. Butterfly splices are glued on. Several cuemakers have made laminated shafts over the years, myself included. They’re stiffer than a solid one piece shaft and less likely to warp. Similar to laminated beams in construction, much stronger than...

Those fancy shafts are much less prone to warping due to the laminated construction.

Two new Covid vaccines to get us back in pool

For myself I have no plans to get a vaccine. Over 99% Survival rate. I’ve never seen the level of stupidity as I have with this. People are scared because of nonstop TV programming telling them to be scared. Government choosing what businesses can stay open and who has to close. Close the...
