Kamui M vs Everest

I know that people have kind of talked Kamui tips to death, but I just wanted to ask if anyone knows what their hardness is compared to an Everest tip? I am trying to decide between Med/Soft and Medium. Right now I play with a Talisman Med but I my older cue has an Everest which I really do love. So which one do you think would have a hardness similar to the Everest.
Thanks,
Will

How much time do you spend ordering a good steak? Seriously, that is a much tougher question than tip hardness. Below is a pic of a perfect steak, IMO. Once the menu is placed before me, I can usually muster up a decision within a minute or so.

Yep, this is the only piece of the cow I'm going to spend any amount of valuable time debating.

Probably the medium.

Everest

I can destoy a talisman in three swings of the cue. They almost always bust within ten swings of the cue. I had one last three days once. but it busted on a very soft shot so it might have been busted allready. I bought a hole pack used them all.

The other one Kamui, they are good, not as durable as everest but good. It lasted a week well into hundreds of swings. Probably third best tip made.

Between the three Everest is the best. They last longer and after thousands of swings of my cue they are still together and on the cue. I had one last three months before. If you ever saw me swing a cue you probably doubt it, but they do. This is the best tip made for me hands down.

Imo

here are my results

Played with Everest for some time, love'd them for the first 4 months of install date. After that didn't really care for the hit so i'd put a new one on.

switched to Sniper, has very much same feel as everest (to me), sniper seems to be very consistand for long period of time, had one on for 8+ months and liked it entire time.

Moved to Kaumi about 3 months ago, using medium, seems a lot like sniper and everest in hit, so far tip is holding up very very well. Maybe a bit better then the sniper, but again, only have had it for 3 months or so.

I have never liked the tailsman tips.

I have a Everest on my Varney. So far I am loving it..... I LIGHTLY scuff before every tourney or league night and i mean lightly jsut for precaution.....

Its a good tip......

question about Kamui Med not which tip is better

I really like the Everest, but I am trying a Kamui. What I want to know is which Kamui tip, Med or Med/Soft would be closer to the hardness of the Everest? In reality this isn't even a question of opinion, one of the Kamui's hardness ratings is closer to the Everest tip then the other. That's the info I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Will

Med soft has a little softer hit than everest med. I made the same switch. I got way more action from the tip, just the damn thing keeps falling apart. I had 2 MS in 6 months. The last one I tried a Soft. It hasn't fallen apart yet, just mushroom really bad. Once I clean it up, should be good.

i use talisman mediums and i've never had a problem with them. been using the same one for like 8 months or so. i had one delaminate but that was because when it was shaved it was shaved with a dull razor.

You must have never seen me hit a ball before...They can not hold up to 30mph swing into the bed of the table only an Everest can...so far.

I am sure Talisman's do a fine job for the game of pool. In that arena you should never hit the ball hard. You will never have an impact like MY masse even if you swing it like Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant breaks. (34mph) It just does not have the same resistance. I am slaming a tooth pick into a brick wall. Pool is swinging a cue through 6 oz.

Does anyone have a 40ft table so I can use some silicon???

I believe the Talisman got a defect from the fitting process. I have used Talisman on my last cue and my current one, and there has been no problem with them. The current one came with my Murrell seven months ago, and is still in great condition. I had to reshape it once after five months, as I prefer dime shape which will not last as long as nickel shape, but that's all there was to it.

The Talisman on my old Kruger lastet for six months - after that, the tip was still fine, but I received my new player from Kenny ;)

Detlev

Interesting note: Charlie "Hillbilly" Bryant also prefers Everests by Tiger over all others.

i play with an everest and i like it as well. i tried out an kamui and had a medium installed and it played like a brick. if your looking for softer more liek everest, i would say go soft or m/s, but why even bother, if you love your everest, why not go with anouther everest?

I'm going home tonight with the give Kamui Med a test drive. I just talked to Eric Crisp and Kamui and Superpro are what he had on that TAR cue. Going to be a night of firsts for me. First time using a Kamui and first time using a Sugartree.

Isnt it time to get off work yet? Damn!
