Photo Album of AZ posters

I've never posted a pic on here but i'll try it. It seems like everyone on here seems to be a tight nit group. The people who i have talked with seem very nice, looking to get to know more of you. Any way here i am at the 2004 Glass City Open. First time playing went 4 rounds. Some people say i look like Shawn Putnum? I don't see it

Two for 1!

Here is a pic of my buddy Pelican and myself. I am holding his Mace cue and he is holding his Blud. I am sure he won't mind us being plastered on the net! LOL

It's nice to see all those pictures, now I can put a face with some of the names around here, too bad I don't have a picture of myself I could post :(

Nice pic shorty,
I always imagined Pelican would have a huge beak for some reason :D

btw: How do you get around the table on that hot machine? Fast, slow, hard to reach?

I've had a few mates play the game, and some very well, from a wheelchair. It's quite suprising what can we done with determined effort and ingenuity!

I think it's great you've been able to get yourself to a level where you can appreciate the game as those of us who had less barriers to overcome. Cheers:)

A teammate found a picture of me from the photo archives of the last Vegas APA team event (that's me in the grey t-shirt):

I think I even won the match in which the pic was taken, otherwise I'd probably have been making this face: :o

Hey Cory,

I think we played in Vegas this year. I was on a team from NJ caleed the "Icemen". Our match went hill-hill (if you are who I'm thinking of).

That is me. And that is you. Figures the only guy who beat me in the tournament would spot me on AZB. That was a tough match we had.

For those who've always wondered what happens when incredible safeties (me) face off with incredible kicks (Eric), the incredible kicks win. As I recall, I once literally froze you in between 2 balls and you made the hit. Another time I buried you by the pocket behind, and perhaps frozen to, several balls, and you made the hit. Man, you kick great. The B&R from hill-hill was a nice touch, too.

After coming back from down 3-1 to win 5-4, it was nice of you to tell me that I was your toughest match, though

Now for my excuse: I had matches in the triple play on Monday and Tuesday starting at 8:00 a.m. (and continuing through the day), then an 8:00 team match on Wednesday, play all day Wednesday (including an 11:00 match), then matches as 1:00 and 6:00 on Thursday. So when we matched up at midnight Thursday, I was mentally and physically weak. That's no excuse for blowing a 3-1 lead, though. Hopefully, we can try it again sometime.

I saw you lost your Friday morning match, though -- did your 3 go up from the drubbing he put on my 4?

Cory,

No excuses, we were all dead tired :p (teasing)

You have a nice game, you play very well.

The safety you maentioned:

START(
%Ao8Q8%DG5^4%Eq6S5%GH4^9%Hg6Y0%JR3^5%No4Z2%O^4E2%Pp7R6%eB9b1

)END

If I remember right, I had stripes and you had me frozen on the lower ball, with a tiny hair of daylight between the upper ball and the CB. I had to jack up and soft masse with reverse english to lengthen the kick, to hit the OB on the right side to get down table:

START(
%Ao8Q8%DG5^4%Eq6S5%GH4^9%Hg6Y0%JR3^5%No4Z2%O^4E2%Pp7R6%WJ6Y3
%X`8D1%eB9b1%_c2D7%`r7P1%ap7R5
)END

It was a very tight safety and if I wasn't fortunate enough to have some daylight, you would have had me.

Friday was a tough loss for us. I went 5-1 for the week and the only loss I had was to Jeff Sergeant's(I lost 5-3 after scratching on a runout to make it 4-2 me, ouch) Then, he broke and ran the next rack, broke, shot a couple of balls and left me a /safe/dicey cut to the side pocket. I dogged the shot, he ran out for the win. Unfortunately, my loss also put our team out of the tourney  Our 3 did go up to a 4 in that match. FWIW, he got drilled by the 4 from Jeff S' team.

I enjoyed our match and I'll look out for ya. We can definately do it again sometime.

Eric >nice game, Cory

OK, so here are a couple of me from my last trip to the States.

Wee story behind them. I walked into Hollywood Magic in Hollywood, CA, one day and saw an older gentleman sitting on one of the stools being shown most of the newer effects in the store. A few moments later, I realised it was The Greatest - Mohammed Ali! OMG!!! I plucked up the courage and asked for a photo. The amazing thing was that HE set up the first picture you can see, then posed for the second one. I was soooo high, I could have flown all the way back to Scotland at that moment without the aid of an airplane and for that I cannot thank him enough.

I'm sorry, but I never tire of telling that story. THE single coolest moment of my life - so far.

That was it; it definitely wasn't your run of the mill 2-rail kick through the daylight.

Sergeant's tough (I used to live in Chicago)--I'll take some extra comfort in losing to someone who nearly beat Jeff.

Again, likewise. See you around.

That has to be a great memory for you cardman. He has to be one of the nicest celebrities ever, always willing to give an autograph or a photo for his fans. Lucky you! Peace, John.

I'm not savvy enough to put 'em side by side... Colin, you out there?? Can you put Shawn's pic next to poolbiz so we can compare?

Joe Porper sells a lot of his really neat stuff to Hollywood Magic. I've been a member (Associate) of the Magic Castle for about 20 years.
