My First Time at an Artistic Pool Event

I just wrapped up streaming the Dr Cue Classic Artistic Cup III in Laurel Maryland at Bank Shot Bar & Grille (A brand new room).

This was my first time to see inside the world of Artistic Pool. I have to tell you, It wasn't what I expected. The rest of the pool world could learn something from Tom Rossman aka Dr Cue.

The event was run like a finely tuned expensive automobile. When Tom said the matches would start at 10am, They started at 10am. The rounds were scheduled and each player had 3 minutes to "warm up". Before each round, all of the players would walk around the room and wish their fellow players good luck and shake hands! It was a brotherhood.

There was a code of conduct in place. No one crossed it, but I heard if you did Tom would ask you to leave! The fans, family and followers where extremely supportive of the venue, each other and the players.

I had a fantastic time and look forward to working with this bunch again!

The entire event, including the award ceremony is recorded on my Ustream show page under archived videos.

Artistic Pool or Trick Shots, whatever you choose to call it, has made great strides in recent years. They are doing more skill shots than ever before. If you haven't seen a show lately, check one out. I was lucky enough to catch the entire Team U.S.A. in Lawrence, Ma. They put on a great show.

They are truly fine represenatives of the game. They entertain the public and respect each others talents.

We should all be as humble.

Thanks for posting. Sounds like everyone had a really good time there. Was watching some of the vids and saw some awesome shots. Thanks for the link.

Thanks for covering the event Ray. I'm glad it left a positive impression and you could get a feel for the culture of the trick shot community. I wish I could've been there myself, but watching it online and bantering in the chat room with everybody was pretty fun too. Hope you'll do more of these in the future!
