Earlier this week, I asked Tommie to send me a couple of these Unity cues. I picked up a curly maple model and a rosewood one. Both had linen wraps.

First thing I noticed about the cues is that they appear very well constructed. The finish is excellent, and the fit is very good. The second thing that I noticed is that the balance makes the cues feel lighter than they are...very neutral balance. The 18.5oz cue (curly maple) feels light as a feather.

The hit, in my opinion, is medium firm. The shafts have a very nice, longer "players" taper without picking up any whip at all.

I had some of the better players at the pool room hit with the cues, and they could not believe that they were only $320 retail cues. Honestly, they play much better. One of the players who tried them out was Richard "the Kid" Barney, the 4 time Jr National champion. He was really impressed with the cues and the way they hit, and he is very particular about cues.

To me, when you have the choice between one of these American made cues and an import, the choice is a "no-brainer"...buy American.

To Tommie and the guys at Unity, many thanks for the opportunity to try these cues, and I wish you much success. I really believe that anyone who picks up one of these cues at the price point you have these at will get a real "winner" of a cue.

Thanks,
Joe
