Meaning all the things you like in a nice pool hall, food, poker machines, plenty of space, good service, clean rest rooms, lots of good parking spaces, friendly people, good players, nice T V's, good bar area, clean tables to sit down to, several 9 foot tables, like Buffalo's Billiards, the worlds pool hall, and good house cues! Add more if your pool hall has it!
Many Regards,

My "home" pool room is smoke free, I park in the garage, it has an open bar with access to the upstairs kitchen plus a fireplace for the cold winter months. I stream Pandora so the sound is good and what I want to listen to.

So far no one has come over to play in my "home" room. So it's just me. If I want to drive 5 miles I can go to Marietta Billiard Club which I like, but they have smoking and Olhausens with worn Simonis, which I'm not too fond of. They also have gold crowns which are ok. The two diamonds play nice though and you can't beat having two World Champions plus another well seasoned pro in the house.

Home room?

Anywhere there's clean level tables, good food and action. Does a pool bum need much more? OK a clean restroom can't hurt!!

Home room

Match Up`s does not have snooker or a billiard table. The food is ok.But they are pressed for space.

Dr9ball,
Who is the other pro in the house at Marietta, Billiards club? How are you doing these days? Nice post!

I actually miss pinball machines and those shooting arcade games. I used to play those while waiting for a match in tournaments back in the days. At some of the old pool halls they would have one or two in a corner, but I've not seen that at all in this state. Now I just sit.. bored. Or I go sleep in the car like I did the other night and someone wakes me up when it's time for a match.

Be careful sleeping in the car at night!

What I "desire" is a pair of supermodels who will lavish me with money & obey my every whim. ;)

What I like in a pool hall?
No poker machines with the gambling addicted feeding in bills
No bar because it means no drunks
No loud juke...a stereo turned low to a classic rock station
No loud big screen TV
Other than bigger snooker & billiards tables, all classic 9' Brunswicks
No food because it means no cooking grease on the tables or balls
Yes to clean Johns and parking.
Yes to bargain table rental rates

In other words, a hall pretty close to "This is Ames, mister."

Here it is...as close to the above as I've seen. :D

Hello PWD,
How are you? Thanks for the good post. Some nice post are coming into this thread.

Ive been playing out of breaks in astoria n.y. cute waitresses. Loungy, mid 20s crowd. Racks. House cues. And Bridges are attrocious. Don't get this place. How much would a few decent racks cost... Otherwise tables play fine. Wish they had cue repair. Don't see many places in my area that offer this.

Shawn Putnam is the house pro at Marietta Billiards Club Lock.
I'm doing ok. Getting settled into the new house. Loving life in Atlanta :)

OK,
I am glad you are liking it in ATL. Nothing like a new house to get use to! You are the Man. Thanks.

Agree about MBC - a bit smoky! But, most around are. I do like most of the staff that I know .... but I REALLY wish they would recover those Olhausens.

Hey maybe you should have a little pool party at that "home room" of yours!!

Three things would make "Hanks" better.
1-clean the bath rooms
2-clean the tables
3-ban Johnny Cash from the jute box.
I would add free water but thats a given.
