Andy and Vicki Gilbert did a tremendous job on this one. Note the small natural veneer strips they put into the slots on the notched diamonds to blend in with the oak. Beautiful, clean conversion cue. What do you think?

Very nice cue. I'm personally not a big fan of oak in cues (yes, even Titlists), but that cue is beautifully done. I noticed the notches in the diamonds before I read the post. Such details make a huge difference. The cue is not over-done, sometimes the diamonds and dots strategy just looks so busy and misses the mark...this one nails it. Very tasteful ring-work too.

Man that cue looks nice, very well executed. If you have not hit with an oak cue try one out. You will be amazed. Thanks for sharing.
 
Andy Gilbert builds terrific playing Titlist conversions.
I've never played with an oak Titlist, but this looks like a very nice cue

Maybe I am missing something, but isn't this technique used on virtually every notched diamond inlay since the beginning of time? Unless perhaps if a maker was good enough to leave those pieces intact when cutting out the hole for the inlay...

Either way, I'd live to hit with that beauty! For sale soon, or into the collection?
