Deno...the IPT is still very much ALIVE!

Unfortunately, this thing is beginning to look more and more like a train wreck.

From what I am reading here, the players were told that they would walk out of Reno with their checks in their hot little hands. That obviously didn't happen. And there were players that suffered hardships as a result, many thought that they could cover their expenses with the expected monies they had been promised at the end. Some even extended their stays in order to pick up the checks that had been promised to them.

Had KT and Deno been up front at the players meeting, all this speculation, and subsequent hardships, could have been avoided. Instead, the fabrications continued...and continued.

I am also extremely interested to hear as to why not even the referees have paid for the event. Now here, Nevada's labor laws may apply. And if I were an unpaid ref, I would persue this avenue, as I would non-payment of wages from ANY employer.

You know, KT has had no problem hawking his 'Natural Cures' all over the place....he has used the media like most people use toilet paper.....yet, he has been conspicuosly quiet and absent when it comes to the IPT since Reno.

If everything is on the 'up and up', then why, oh why, has either Deno (who is a member here) or KT come here and given a full explanation of just what is going on.....given the number of players that frequent and/or call AZB home? A little communication can go a long way! One would think that damage control would be tantamount to the IPT's survival.

I have a great amount of respect for all the players involved...y'all have been a truly patient lot. With respect to the content of the emails and phone convo's being relayed here from both Deno and KT, quite frankly, I haven't heard so much double-speak since "A Clockwork Orange".

My wife Shirley has a very simple saying: "Why would you believe a liar?"

Once you know they lie, it's over.

I feel for you Linda, but what worries me the most is that they have taken advantage of your support for them in the past. They lied to you about the cheques and you came on hear 100% behind them. I don't want this to sound bad but to many this made you look a little naive. The excuses they where feeding you sounded ridiculous to the neutral but to you credit you backed them to the hilt.

How can you be sure they are not doing the same thing again?

I have met and talked with Linda, and I can tell you that she is far from naive!! I think that she sees the glass half full, as opposed to half empty. I think she is trying to remain as hopeful as one possibly can, given the current situation. She, along with many others, myself included, would really like to see the IPT survive, sans KT at this point. It could, and should, be a great thing for pool...in the right hands. She has my utmost respect for the complete optimism she has tried to maintain, even in the face of some unsettling revelations. I used to be just like her....but now, not so much.

I'm not saying she IS, but the cheque excuse (Sat delivery) was unbelievable and Linda backed the IPT 100%. the point I'm trying to make is that this was an obvious lie and if I was Linda a) I would have been pretty pissed off with them about that, and b) I certainly wouldn't make the same mistake again publicly at least.

Only because she wants so very, very badly for the IPT to succeed...no matter who is at the helm. Perhaps it's the rest of us who cannot see the forest for the trees.

We all want it too succeed, well 99% of us I guess. But we know for certain that FEDEX didn't get lost in the trees, it would have to be a rather large forest given the time they've been lost!

I agree. It has a heartbeat.... and PLEASE don't cancel your memberships! My company worked very, very, very hard on the video section - just to entertain you guys (and gals). I think it's one of the best online pool video sections on planet earth.

It's not only about the IPT - it's about the companies like mine that busted its ass for the pool players that get hurt.

For those who cancelled - and you enjoy the video section (and there's a lot more coming).. please re-up. Don't be a nit over $6. You can't drive to Blockbuster for $6, and you have unlimited match viewing (that looks pretty damn good, I might add). Not like I pay, but if I did - I wouldn't cancel that membership until I got an HTTP 404 error when trying to view something!

Anyways, my point is you hurt more than the IPT by doing something like that - without knowing anything for fact. If something bad happens in the future, you're out $6. Give it a chance.

I'm not going to respond to any "responses" from this - good or bad - as I try to be neutral and not post on here.

Too late, I cancelled last night. Not worried about the $6 just didn't want the hastle of trying to find out how to cancel if everything just disappears today or tomorrow. Too bad you didn't post earlier and clarify the situation.

Of course the membership club and the website and the statistics were all first class.

Now it appears that KT most likely had nothing to do with that and just shopped it out to your company. But if the IPT folds then you may not get anymore tapes.

Oh no, you did not linda!!!!!!

I understand that you are torn, holding out hope that the ipt succeeds. I understand how much time and effort you have expended on the tour. I also understand why you would keep extending to them every benifit of doubt you can muster.

BUT....

With all the flippflopping you are doing, at the very least, if you experience a change of heart, you should be adopting a wait and see attiude. Nothing more.

But encouraging the public to continue entering qualifiers, and spnding 2k at a clip, is COMPLETELY IRRESPONSIBLE ON YOUR PART. Considering no one has been paid for the last event, and the very real possibility that the ipt no longer actually exists, to make that statement reflects on your credibility.

Wait and see, don't crucify, etc is one thing, but to publically call for people to continue investing hard earned dollars into the ipt when we don't know one way or another if it is still viable is OUTRAGEOUS.

I would expect som sort of recanting on your part. You are better than that, imo.

Yes, I did ask just that. Both KT and Deno really believed that the deal would be done and money would be freed up in time on Sunday, and then the next day, and so on, so they just stalled everyone until it became apparent that it wasn't happening 'any day' soon. The new law did throw a big monkey wrench into the works, but it still looks positive.

I also asked if we would get paid ONLY if the Ho deal went through and I do believe there are contingency plans to get the players paid.

lol, this has become absolutely ridiculous. Contingency plans to get the players paid? I need some of what you've been smoking if you seriously think that KT has any intentions of paying the players if he doesnt sucker this billionaire into buying the tour. If he had that intention then wouldn't it be feasable to think that it would have already occured instead of letting more than a month pass and doing irreparable damage to the tours credibility? He is a CONMAN in every sense of the word and you guys are still under his cloud of smoke. Maybe Deno has the right intentions, but I believe he is a victim of believing KT's lies just like everyone else.

The "new law" wasn't signed into law by Dubya until well after the end of the Reno event. The timeline doesn't make any sense. The players should have and could have been paid long before Bush put pen to paper.

Furthermore, I've read the port security/online gaming law and I can't see how it would affect the payment of his staff and players in the least. It sounds like KY fed Deno a crock and then Deno fed you a crock.

You are asking us to not be nits when Kevin Trudeau is being the largest one of them all. Has any of the money from the memberships gone to the players? All of it was taken in since the last few days of Reno until now? The IPT has been shown that they are just the same kind of liars that unscrupulous promoters in the past have been, just on a larger scale.

I am sure you worked hard to get the videos up. I believe you probably did it on some kind of revenue share which depends on the subscriptions. You probably got taken in by Trudeau's evangelizing nature as well.

Thank you for the videos, they were entertaining. The IPT however does not deserve to have the credit or the money for that content however. We didn't pay to see Joe Blow play for $500,000, we paid to to see the people whose talent the IPT is built on. We, the hard core fan base, are your customers not the millions of casual viewers the advertisers are trying to snag. Our heroes deserved better treatment from the IPT than they have gotten and WE deserved better treatment.

If you want us to give our money to Trudeau's organization then make sure he pays the players and puts the money for each tournament in escrow with third party verification. Until I see that, the IPT will not get my support in any fashion.

Bummer too, because I didn't get to see all the matches.

I pledge $6 a month to the legal fund if it comes to that. There, now I am not being a nit over $6.

FYI, it's not good business to call people nits when you want them to buy something from you.

Very good post Roadie, it sure doesn look like they were persuaded to do the work for some kind of commission. Hmm so the Ref's havent been paid, the Video pert of the website could possibly be commission only. I also thought it was interesting that the IPT was cancelled from EuroSport when the pay per view live streaming was announced. I know the Tennis was on but surely EuroSport knew that when they announced the live coverage?

Im also curious, does anyone really believe that Mike and LJJ actualyl got paid the full amounts advertised for the initial match up? I'm starting to wonder if this wasn't a huge scam to launch the tour and they got nothing more than a few $k for their time and a promise of a place on the tour? I could be wrong but does anyone know for sure?

Linda, with all due respect, your posting private email correspondance between you and Deno or you and KT hasn't helped matters any. People read those emails and take what they want from them. What I'm saying is that you inadvertantly fanned the flames and now you want to put the genie back in the bottle?.

Stand back and watch the perpetual motion machine do it's thing, you can't stop it now.

I understand that. It has been a roller coaster ride for us players too, from the lowest lows to the highest highs, and back again. All I am trying to do is keep at least the players and fans abreast of the latest knowledge as understood by me. I realize that everyone has differing opinions and are entitled to them. But so am I.

Roadie, nice post. I will third your sentiments, after TheOne. Spider, do the people signing your paycheck know you are calling their customers "nits"? You have a very professional website, but this is one of the least professional things I've seen in some time. You should be ashamed of this post.

OK, I will say this. I am now 75/25 hopeful that the money will be paid and the IPT will carry on. Yes, the fact that they LIED is one item I attacked Deno with. He totally admits it was handled the wrong way. He does occasionally read the forums, but is in meetings all day, goes home and has a family life. It is company policy not to respond on the forums, so omissions are not an admission of guilt. That is why they have said in the past that they are not going to respond to forums. Now I can see why, lol. :o

I am totally taking a wait and see attitude. I believe Deno to be a standup guy. I believe he is doing his best to get the players paid. I think we certainly have a better shot at getting paid with him in there than without him.

If I were a qualifier, I would call Deno before plunking down my hard-earned money and then make a decision based on their own beliefs. Yes, it was irresponsible to post that everyone support the qualifiers, but it is just as irresponsible to make a blanket statement to not support them. They all have to make decisions based on their own instincts.

Maybe KT is so good he has fooled Deno too. Let me tell you, Deno is no fool. I want to see what today's letter brings and then make a personal decision as to how to proceed as posted earlier.
