Thanks poolmanis! That was a sweet jump shot in the 3rd game, drew it back perfectly and everything! Hope to see more from you.

Cheers,
Vic

Looking really good Poolmanis. I haven't made it through the whole thing quite yet but from what I've seen -- I'm impressed. You look really good at the table.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks :) I still got some problems with keeping focused right things..

Love this thread and concept!

Finally got around to participating myself by making a vimeo account and uploading a video.

Before this I have never recorded myself playing pool. I had no idea just how nervous pressing the record button on the camera was going to make me.

I edited the video by increasing the playback speed between racks to try to save some time. I was able to shave about 10 minutes off the unedited video. Bear in mind before editing this video I had ZERO experience with video editing of any kind. It was actually surprisingly simple. If anyone has any interest in what I used to edit the software , let me know and I’ll pass along the info.

The room I play out of has a mishmash of tables. For this round I played the ghost on an Olhausen with 4.5” pockets and Milliken cloth. Squeaked out a hill-hill win (7-6) This table is deceptively fast with very jumpy rails. My intention is to record a match against the ghost on every different table throughout the room. There are 9’ Brunswick Medalists, 9’ Black Crowns, 9’ Gold Crowns, another antique style 9’ table and a couple of off-brand 8 footers...oh, and a 9’ Diamond with 4” pockets, I’ll save that for last. ;-)

Thanks busboy! 7-3 is pretty solid against the ghost. Looking forward to the video

I did beat 10-ball Ghost 7-1 today. :)

I had little bit hangover and had to go work also.. So got right kinda vibes to not miss..:D

Poolmanis, man you have a nice stroke! That's what I like to imagine my stroke looks like...then I see myself on video and its not even close, lol.

Thanks for kind words. :)

I really like this Ghost training. It really put some pressure for your training if you really want beat ghost.. I recommend it everyone who wanna get better..
If you can´t compete against ghost you better then keep low profile.

I also like video my straight pool practice and this ghost races give me more competition like practice.
especially if i can´t keep focus running some straight pool is nice to shoot for rotation games for a while..
I really don´t have anyone who compete against me around now. So this ghost is nice way to keep some competition-wise practice.

One guy from Israel is only one who can beat me if i give him a chance(he is like ghost, nothing special but if you screw he is gonna take your money)
Now he got new woman and he rarely comes to play pool. :frown:

Nice win over the ghost, you've been practising I see :) When are you going to unleash your stroke on the Finnish pool scene again?

Well.. If my rheumatism keeps civil I plan to go 8 and 9 ball Finnish Championships.
Mostly I practice only because I like it and my goal is only one competition.. DCC 2016.
Need to save money to get there.:)

I just tried again today after a bit of a break. I lost 6-7, on 9' GC4. I was up 5-3, and started getting very nervous. Lost the next 3, then won one to go hill-hill, and then I missed the BIH shot on the hill hill rack:(

I'll upload the video later I'm going to try to edit out the dead space like Dr Dave did, but I've never done that before so I'll have to figure it out.

Edit: Here is the upload. I turned the sound off because I was playing music in the background and youtube will block it due to copyright. I turned the sound back on for the last rack and turned the music off.

That's a good set. Nice shooting. I'll have to check that one out. Sounds like you're making progress. Your secret is safe with me.

Good work. Obviously, it is just a matter of time before you crush the ghost.

I use Pinnacle Studio for the editing. This is same package I use to produce my instrucitonal DVDs. It's not the best program out there, but it is very easy to learn and use, and it is fairly inexpensive. Although, I think MovieMaker (free for Windows) and iMovie (free for Mac) are fine for basic editing.

Catch you later,
Dave

Thanks for the comments. Video is now added to my post three posts above.

I used iMovie to cut out the thinking part of the game;)

Will try again in a while... I've in learning shot mode now:)
