Anyone knows in one pocket if you are a 1/2 ball to a ball better or worse you can win or lose to that guy your playing because players are capable of playing up a ball or down a ball sometimes more.

Maybe your the one that CAN'T comprehend and read! Artie was at least 1/2 to a ball better than SJD!

To make the game EVEN, seems it would be, 10/8, 9/7 for real action!

This math seems a little off....a half ball better?
Seems like the even gamble would be for the lesser player to hold the
break, and give 8/7....assuming the break is worth a ball and a half.

I think I sent this to everyone to see. I think this all stems from the 1pckt.org days, and they were all knocking each other... nobody is innocent here, lets be honest with that at least.

We know they all played well,,, but when two folks are arguing, they don't play nice, and say things that are not always true, and that is from both sides. I was hoping Simps post would finally end this thread, cause I know I'm done. Later.

Whether it's your, mine or anyone else's math, the bottom line is SJD couldn't beat Artie playing One Pocket EVEN, he would need a spot, PERIOD! OVER and DONE!

I missed 370 of the posts in this thread, during what years is the argument at hand? Is this during a certain time period or since the beginning of pocket billiards all the way up until today.
 
It really becomes a one sided argument when one of the two main protagonists in this thread could play pool games very well and the other (try as he might) not so much.

And what is with all the hearsay evidence? If someone is so popular why not have them post witness for you? I think I know the answer to that no need to reply.
 
So, Dick beat an over-the-hill Fats, and he finally could beat RA after he was over-the-hill too. In his own words, SJD admitted that about RA. But who did you beat that was in their PRIME? You went to Johnston City, did you play? Why not?

That may be so but I'm not arguing whether he could beat Player A or Player B like you are. That is unknowable and all that can be done is to offer opinions. What I do know as fact is that SJD is in the HOF and was known as a great player and fearless gambler.

Speaking of opinions, I also know that in SM&S, Jersey Red rated SJD pretty high saying, "...Dick, who was within a ball of anyone of any era..."

Within a half ball of anyone. That's pretty strong.
