I was looking at the board seems to be many top players missing , and also seems to be little interest on the board even though Iv heard this is the future of pool
I just don't see it as that maybe the interest will pick up but the board has several by's and a pretty short field given the Title of US Open

Not since graduation day have I seen so many Byes :D
Small field about 80 players (only 60% of full field of 128)
About 10 to 20 world class (not all 1st tier)
But the dampener are the 7ft toy tables. Have better things to do than watch pool on toys

I agree with the others. I was going to buy the stream but when I saw the flyer with 7 foot tables decided it's not for me. I realize there is a matter of integration with the other parts of the tournament, so I understand - just not my cup of tea. It's a strong field, just not a US Open strong field.

I'm all for some bar box tunrneys , it throws the barbox guys a bone , but to coin it a U.S. open takes away from what a U.S. open is supposed to be , that's the strongest field in the hardestest conditions , a far cry of what we have here

i was wondering what the turnout was & if Nicki Minaj was in it - thanks. so basically, business is down 40%. that actually beats the 50% predicted. Barry had better take note.

as for FRANK ALVAREZ being allowed in this - i am SHOCKED. i need to text Lee Brett & call in a favour....

I agree about Tad, there are a few other dark horses and even one sleeper;)

Your right...,

If it was on a 9ft table he can give anybody hell.

Maybe everyone of you who think 7 foot tables are a joke should have played. I am sure you would have won against this field. "Anyone can run the table on a 7 footer", mentality is laughable

Maybe people just don't like to watch 7 footer matches?

No, what's laughable is you thinking that's what we are saying.

What's laughable is watching professionals get out rack after rack with relatively zero difficulty.

There's no excitement or drama. It's boring.

I see Mark Haddad on the list but not Mark Tadd. Am I missing Tadd in there?

Mark Tademy is Mark Tadd......
....that's the pool world for you....shortened his name and added a D.
...probably the extra D was added so he wouldn't be confused with Tad cues....
....who's name was Tad Kohara....
....I played with a Tad for a while....called it my Tadpole...

regards
pt....post may have been a tad long
:)

Definitely a tad witty.

Nice to hear from at least one or two folks who don't hate bar boxes. Personally, I enjoy playing on any size decent table.

Most of the haters probably are unaware that a number of Hall of Famers played a lot of bar box pool and even promoted them as a way to get more folks to play.

A certain Mosconi guy even promoted the BBs in the 1960s...
