Justin Bergman is only a barbox player and will never beat Shane race to 100.

Wait a second guys, wait a second.
Remember...
SVB is the betting favorite in "ANY race of ANY length."

Justin pounding him is a fluke!

HAHAHAHA!
So ridiculous.
HAHAHAHA!

lol, Justin is the real deal and he has the right initials. That said......doesn't seem like his backers are too eager to publicly challenge Shane to a long race.

Shane, on the other hand, ducks no one ever in the long race format. Justin would certainly play and has ZERO reason to fear Shane. Justin's backers on the other hand might not be so sure.

Haha this thread is no entertaining.

It's true that the fact is there is not any American and European players are interested in playing against Shane for big money.

Someone please setup a challenging match race to 30+ between Shane and Alex (or other Phillipino player) where entry fee is like 25K-30K (so that players must put in somewhat ~15K), it will be fun to watch.

You should say Shane's backers duck no one.
No player is going to turn down a free shot to make money. Even if the odds are against them.
And we all know that none of the players are putting up their own money.

They would all insta-nit if that were the case.

Shane lost to both Alex and Bustamante(other Filipino player) in a race to 100 playing 10-Ball. You can purchase his match with Alex on TAR on demand.

When did Busty play Shane in a long race(9b or 10b) and what was the score? Only followed pool online the last few years.

From what I understand, Shane has backers that he has been with for a long time but he is always ready to put up the whole amount himself.

Justin Collet probably has the inside scoop on that. As would John Mars as well.

It was in January 2012. 10 Ball, race to 25, 2 out of 3 sets. TAR 24. Don't remember the score but Busty won, and they each put up $10,000 each I think.

Edit: Sorry it was $5,000 each.

There are a very few (pro) players who bet plenty of their own money, and Shane is 1 of those few.

And there are also a very few (pro) players who would "not" get into a bad game, even when they're 100% backed.

Justin is a fine, fine world class player and is highly underrated (kind of ironic given that he plays and ranks so high). But he's not in the SVB's level just yet, when it comes to gambling.

Let us not act like Shane has had his backers say no to matches before. Even Jay posted how Orcollo challenged Shane to play in the Philippines I believe & the answer was no.

What does Fargo say? Cause that's like the pool rating bible.

Fargo and MyPoolStats are both great tools for setting up fair matches. That does not mean the higher ranked player is always going to win, it is simply a baseline on how they should match up based on history of performance. If 2 players are within 50 points of each other it would most likely be a toss up. If 1 player is 100 points higher than the other my money is on the higher ranked player every time. Fargo numbers make a lot more sense than APA 3, 4, 7, 8, ETC and BCA B, A,AA, etc... The people least likely to like Fargo type scoring are those that have a low APA or BCA ratings and duck tournaments to keep them from getting bumped up.

Link? I saw Shane take on all comers in the Phillipines.

Respectfully I was referring to the TAR format race to 100 on a Diamond and not ad hoc challenges in pool rooms around the world.

In the long race TAR format it is still my understanding that Shane has never refused a match with anyone.

BTW Shane and Orcullo did play barbox 8 ball for money five or six years ago in Vegas iirc. Not sure who won.

Wrong....Bustamante never played a race to 100 with Shane, and Alex got his butt kicked the second time they played, and lost even more over at the Q club after the race was over:rolleyes:

I corrected that in one of my previous post. It was race to 25, 2 out of 3 sets.
