Your APA stats

Things have been a little slow around here lately, so here's something to get some discussion going. I think it would be interesting to see the APA records of the various posters here (at least the ones who play APA). A surprising number of people here have claimed to run 5, 6, and 9 packs, but that's impossible to verify. APA records are at least verifiable.

To get this started, here's mine--I think this places me in about the decent B category. Also, I should strive to break and run more often.

P.S. To see your stats, log in to https://members.poolplayers.com, and then click on "My Stats, Schedules & Rosters." I just took a screenshot and then used a free hosting site to post it.

I'm game. Here are mine. I am no good, but I do break in the 8 fairly regularly. I believe 9 ball is a much better skill level assessor. We will start APA 9 ball next session.

Also want to make it clear how bad I really am. I am the only one here with a lowest attainable rank of 0. Rules say a male cannot be below a 3 at national tournament. Beat that, I'm so bad they have to change the rules.

boooo...it won't let me get my stats unless I renew for 2013....that sucks!

Edit...will just have to post my stats...about 81.5% lifetime win % ball....includes a year of dumping to stay a 6 a long time ago lol.

you guys suck at 9b!

Was thinking the same thing

Well if anybody really cares I beat a guy in the NAPA league Race to 7 in 9ball with a 4 game spot to him and he shot twice. Ran 3 racks in a row out the gate. Then made 2 9'ers on the snap. Miss after making a couple balls in the next rack... He missed then I ran out to go up 6-0 or 6-4 have you

I break dry and he missed a hanger. I ran out and that was that. Match took all of 20 minutes max. I was the first player in my area to be in the Hustlers Hall of Fame. Even got a certificate mailed to me. I crumpled it up and used it to start my grill. Yeah... Im pretty flipping hardcore on the bar box

Oh yeah I also played a bunch of APA 9ball and got a bunch of patches I had to pay for. They live near my sh*tter so if I run out of bum wipe I have something to wipe my backside. Just thought you should know ;)

I'll play along. My 9 ball stats are pretty bad. It's easy to think I'm better than that but numbers don't lie. Also noticed it shows I have no 8 on the breaks or B&R's this session. Must be LO operator thing because I know I have some. Not many but some.

Cory, looks like you and I both got locked in the same year for 8 ball. That's when we met for drinks, right?

Shouldn't every player have about a 50% win percentage in everything if the handicap is fair? What does it mean when someone wins 70% of the time?

What it means to me is all the complaining about sandbagging has mathematical merit to go along with it.

Looks like most of the stats weren't updated on my page. Looks like W/L and defensive shots were all that was kept up to date.

Impossible to win at these S/L races as a 9 without running out. Looks like no runouts ever made it to my stats in 8 or 9 Ball.

What is a "grand slam?"

You are correct with one exception you do not understand here. Assuming their are 1,000,000 average players in the APA all of them will be between 43-58% due to statistical variance but essentially 50%.

This does not consider that there are many players who CANNOT win and no handicap can account for zero games won. Therefore average players will actually be 50% or above.

There are also some great players who max the handicap. There is much difference between a marginal 7/9 and a great 7/9. A great 7/9 might never lose and no system that handicaps in a method that can end in 1.5 hours will allow it. Essentially a player could be so good that they need to go to 12 while others go to 2 but the league does not have time to allow that many games so it has to have a max.
