Michael. I'll take the Cuda or the Duster. Wish those were todays prices.

In 76, year of graduation, a friend of mine bought a 76 Corvette. $13,500.00.

Everyone was saying, "oh man, are you crazy".

Even those other prices were almost unobtainable for the average person.

At 19, I wanted a Taxi Plate so bad because I knew the potential for earning and the prices would continue to go up. At $12,000.00, it would be the same as myself going into the bank and asking for a Million.

I had to wait until the price was at 70K, I still had to suck some bum, and had to put up 50%.

Great investment, as they are going for 300K in my city now. Likely have a nice nest egg when I sell in the future.

Back to the Future, eh.

1966 Corvette teak steering wheel 1966 Corvette Stingray big block bubble hood 1966 Corvette Stingray fuel filler lid
1966 Corvette window sticker Left: Teak steering wheel was a handsome option (RPO N32, $47.40) that was first available in 1965. Middle: As in 1965, the "Bubble" hood signified a big block was lurking beneath. Above Right: Stylish emblem on the rear deck also functioned as a lid for fuel fill-up access.
Right: Sample 1966 Corvette window sticker. A price of $5308.90 might seem like an amazing bargain these days, but in 1966 it was big $$$ and almost three tim
