There is a place outside oc on route 50 about a mile from the beach i think it is called bogies it will be on the rite side of route 50 leaving oc,it has atlease 5to6 9 footers,i dont think the action is very good though, but the place has very good food and the prices wont bust you either,if you want to go a little further up 50west about 25miles to salisbury then you will find a real pool hall called action billiards and u will find some action there!good luck to you,i have been going to oc for the last 35years on vacation i love the place, especially ocean downs race way!

I checked Bogies and they dont have the tables anymore..I checked all around last year and there was some bar box tables in some bars but the nearest or only pool hall was in salibury I believe it was called Break time billiards..But thats a drive. I made the drive last year, but it was kinda dead there in the afternoon. Im going down soon to so I would like to find some place with 9ft, tables also..Years ago I used to go to Gentleman Jims pool hall But that closed up long ago...<< ED

Ocean City has been known as a pool room desert for about a decade. Good luck.

Ocean City, Md. brings back some memories. Scotty T. and I were just heading back south after one of the Last Call for 9-Ball events at Resorts in Atlantic City. We arrived in Ocean City just after dark and managed to find the only pool room there, likely that Gentleman Jims room. We went in and found that the only person in the building was the houseman. He explained that since it was in the dead of winter, the only people in town were the few that lived there year round, and if any of them were still out they would be at a bar back up the road. Naturally, Scotty wouldn't leave town without checking that bar out.

The bar had two bar boxes and several people were playing. Scotty got matched up for $20 a game on one table and I got the big spender for $5 a game on the other table. We were both paying attention to our games and didn't notice that the place had filled up with police officers. I only noticed after two plain clothes officers grabbed me by each arm and said "Come with us". At this point I'm thinking, "Damn, their busting me for playing for $5 a game. They must have not noticed that Scotty was playing for $20".

When they opened the door to take me outside, I immeadiately knew it was about more than the $5 game. There was a line of police cars with their lights flashing that had encircled the bar. Turned out that I fit the description of someone that had been robbing people in the area at gunpoint. Luckily, we still had the room receipts from Resorts and I was able to convince them that I hadn't been in the area. But the story doesn't stop there.

We kept going south and two days later we stop in a room in Georgia and we're not in that room for more than 40 minutes when two officers come in and escort Scotty outside. He fit the description of someone who had robbed several banks in the area the past week. True Story.

After that we decided we had had enough of the road for awhile.

It was the houseman that ratted you out , he didn't have anything better to do than watch the crime stoppers report on the local news.:grin:
