I have heard a few stories over the years, but the ones here are truly great. I remember JJ telling me about The Rack and the strange pool time rates for road agents. The story goes something like this. JJ gets in and gets down in a good game. He wins 10k or so and goes to pay the time. They tell him "that'll be $600." He laughs, but they are dead serious. There is a long pause followed by "well you wanna come back tomorrow, don't ya?" He pays off the $600, chalking it up to juice for the score.
The next night, he wins between 5k and 10k side betting. Hours go by and he never hits one ball. When the wee hours arrive, he decides to get some rest. Before he got 10 feet, he was told his "pool time" was $500. He starts to argue, but thinks better of it and peels off a nickel laughing all the way to the hotel.
The Rack must be the strongest place in the world to gamble at pool, period!
