A'dam (D)Open meets high expectations

The Amsterdam (D)open that took place 17th and 18th of may 2008 in Club 8 Amsterdam has proven itself worth of continuation. 40 participants of al levels played the round robin on Saturday for qualification in the last 32 on sunday. Sponsor Green House Seeds surprised the participants with nice goodies and organiser Club 8 provided a sympathetic and relaxed athmosphere. Of all the well-known contestants local heroes Streepie and Richard van Veldhoven were favorites, but at the last moment, Amsterdam based Sjimmie entered the competition as a serious contender for first place......

I read about it when it was announced in the Tournament Forum section.

I really, really, really would like one of these posters for my pool paraphernalia collection. :D

My question, though, is how would they know which ball to shoot in?

Maybe in the Amsterdam D'open, it doesn't matter which ball goes in first! :p

I kind of got a kick out of this quote from the article:

In the preliminary rounds there were some complaints that some participants "did not smoke enough". The tournament rule was that everyone was to smoke before their match, and did not have to smoke during. That did not stop most players and it was good too see that the final was played between those who were smoking constantly.
