Wanted "ja" schon

I've seen a few (literally one or two) Johnny Archer model SCHON CUES through the years and never snatched one up. The ones I saw weren't incredibly fancy but very nice. On the buttcap they said "Schon JA".

Johnny won a lot of his championships with various Schon cues over the years before going to Scorpion cues. Does anyone have a JA SCHON that they would like to part ways with?

Thanks.

Edited to add: Here is a link to a JA Schon.

I remember that he used a really nice SL-23 for quite a while. There is also a Johnny Archer special edition Schon with big J A letters in the butt sleeve inlays. I tried to find that one but could not. I did find a picture of an SL-23 from an old AZ Billiards posted by Bassmaster, he states that the cue was stolen, that is a damn shame.

You may check with Dick Abbot at Billiardcue.com. I remember he had one of the Johnny Archer JA cues for sale. I believe there were 3 made and Johnny was allowed to pick which one he wanted.

Hi.

I used to own both of the cues in those pictures on Proficient Billiards. I sent them both to Scott for refinishing/rewrapping. The finish on the JA Schon butt sleeve was almost entirely flaking off when I received it. Scott's work was so good, I think it probably looked better than when it was brand new from Schon. At the time, I was moving on to fancier cues, so I sold them both. You're right that the Schon isn't overly fancy, but it sure was beautiful when it came back with a new wrap and finish. I have only seen a few JA cues over the years, though. If memory serves, there were actually five different models of JA cues, each with somewhere up to thirty of each having been built.

I don't know if any of this information is helpful, but I bet you could find one or more of them with the right contacts. It sure was nice seeing a couple of my old cues again.

Best wishes,
Ryan

Yes, those are beautiful cues and Scott did a great job! Thanks for the additional info on the JA model Schon cues.

NICE....

Wow...a year later and I'm getting some action on this thread. Better late than never.
