I dont know where this thread should go so any mods/admins feel free to move to appropriate location.

Cheers bar and grill is looking for past and current league players to fill out a 4 league night schedule(2 TAP, 2 APA). So far there's a monday night TAP 9ball, but the rest of the nights are still tenative and will be based on the avalibility of the members. We are the old Champions in towson (1969 E. Joppa Rd), and we will be open by the first of may.

We have 9 Gold crown 3's, with brand new z-9 cloth courtesy of Tiger Pool.
Remember, the APA and TAP does allow 9 ft. table players a score adjustment to comphensate for the extra green.

Interested players can contact me on my cell-phone 443-912-2396, or follow up via private message or just post a reply with a contact e-mail. I'll post a few pictures of the room once i get the digital camara working.

Also, we plan on running a 9ball tournerment and maybe an 8ball tournerment depending on interest so anyone who wants more information about that should leave thier email on the reply.

I don't need another league to play, right now. However, I would like you to keep us posted on any other events you are running at your new room.
I may be interested in playing and/or watching some of the tournaments.

Good luck. :D

You have the z-9 cloth in the states allready? That must be one of the first places to have it. Klaus Zobrekis makes this cloth, the people I've heard about it all love it. Seems to last longer AND work better than simonis.

Hey what's up Don?

I think that's you, I remember the Jerry Oliver cue you had. This is Heath, I'm bringing a team over for mondays remember?

Anyway, Don had an open house at Cheers for league members last week. The tables play fantastic and the z-9 rolls great, I highly recommend checking this place out. It has a great upscale atmosphere and a nice menu as well. I really can't wait until this place opens up and wish them the best of luck.

Don, we got to get together and hit some balls around, didn't get a chance to play you at the open house. :)

I think the Planet Pool folks are the sole supplier in the US right now.

How long does it take for this cloth to be broken in? One of the problems with new/newer cloth is that balls come off the rails differently, and skid a lot. That happens with the Championship Tour edition cloth too. I know one bar that had that stuff installed probably a year ago and the table plays just about as fast as it did the day it was installed, in other words, too fast.

How is this Z cloth better than Simonis in terms of playability?

Hi everyone! Cheers does have the new Z-9 cloth. But it's not the first room. We've also provided it to Side Pockets (formerly Champions in Laurel, MD), First Break Cafe in Sterling, Virginia, Bill & Billies Cuesport in Arnold, MD, Great Slates in Cambridge, MD. The room at Side Pockets was the first installed in January, I don't live near the room, so it is hard for me to say how it plays there. I do however play at First Break in Sterling VA, it started playing in at around a week or so, and about two weeks to play in completely and for the initial difficulties you see with new cloth to come off. The tables are holding up great, and we've gotten a lot of compliments on the cloth at this point. I personally love playing on it, but I guess my opinion may sound biased. I'm sure our other players can probably chip in with their opinions too.
It's been great having Klaus as a sponsor, and currently, we are the sole distributor. You can purchase the cloth online through our website www.tigerpooltour.com.

We have an event scheduled for Cheers on June 23rd & 24th. It will be a 9-ball Multiple Table Ring Game Format. Not our traditional format - but great action for watching & playing. So if you're interested put the dates on your calendar. We're looking forward to hosting a tournament there! And we wish them the best of luck in rebuilding the business that Champions left behind.

Hey Heath, nice to know local players post here. I'll take the last two and play whenever you want :) I guess i'll try you some even for practice.

Thanks for all the positive input so far, once again we need about 10 more teams to fill our 4 day schedule. APA deadline for getting teams in is the 21st of this month, so dont delay.

And the z-9 cloth plays great, better than championship and somonas, although it is a little nappy.
