Landon Shuffet and Brandon Shuff are two different players. :p

Landon is a good choice in that he is going to represent the U.S. team, competing at the WPA World Junior Championships this fall.

Brandon Shuff is a favorite up-and-coming player of mine, too! The 22-year-old kid's got a heart of gold and a strong desire to take his game to the next level. He's been hitting 'em pretty sporty as of late. ;)

Oops! Thanks, Jam!

Who is your favortie male and female player on tour and why? Also who do you see as the best current player even if they are not your favorite and who do you think is the best up and comer?

I have to add Bob Vanover of Texas as my favorite male non-professional player. He truly played (last I saw of him, 10 years ago) at pro-level. Always a gentleman no matter how the game was going or his opponents antics.

And his brother, "Cigar Tom" Vanover of Dundalk ain't too shabby either. He is still heralded as one of the great ones in the State of Maryland.

Cigar Tom has won many State Maryland Championship titles, and today still endulges himself in a game of stakes by appointment! ;)

Shane Van Boning best up and comer

they don't really have a men's tour so hard to pick something from nothing....Reyes is probably the best overall........but a lack of a "tour" on the mens side will leave it unknown

what about the old timers? how do they compare to todays players? ait some of you might be old timers lol

Definitely Irving Crane. Until some guy named Efren came along, Irving was the best pool strategist of all time, not to mention that he could run hundreds and hundreds.

Still, watching Efren play pool is like watching Rembrandt paint a masterpiece, and I, personally, wonder which of them showed greater artistry in his chosen trade.

Sadly, there are a few players for whom I'd say that watching them play pool is like watching Rembrandt paint ..................................... a fence.

Male:
Efren Reyes - The greatest player to ever wield a pool cue ever IMO.

Female:
It's a triple tie - former members of the Philippine Women's Team
- all can hold their own and very disciplined.

Rubilen Amit, Iris Ranola, and Mary Ann Basas

:)

Male - Corey He has a great imagination on the table.
Female - XT She actually strokes the balls and doesn't look like a robot like some of the other girls.

earl strickland and jasmin ouschan.

both play the game like it should be played, they hit the balls with authority, and they have long beautiful strokes.

Men---Ronnie O'sullivan- if he ever got serious about 9ball everyone would be screwed

Women- Jasmin Ouschan------ probably the next Allison Fisher

I can't decide between Johnny Archer, Tommy Kennedy or Stevie Moore. I know all three of them and they are all Georgia boys. Johnny might be the only one of them born here and he is the only world champion of the three, but I like them all alot so I can't choose. Jean Balukas is my favorite female player and she is not on tour, so I can't pick another.
