Keith vs Matlock on a barbox

Did they ever play a big match on the bar table? Lots of people say Keith was the best ever on a bar box, and others say the same about Matlock. If they played, who won? And who do you think was the best ever on the small track?

By the way, out of curiosity, has anyone ever seen Efren play on a barbox? I have never heard of him playing in any of those big bar table tournaments.

Too much luck and business was always more predictable in larger waters.

OH YAY I love a good excuse to yak about my favorite players lol

I know they are good friends, but not sure about them ever playing....would not have made sense anyway...who the hell wants to bet on a high dollar set b/t those two since you got a 50/50 chance of going busted...

From what I hear, David was UNBEATABLE on the BB with the BIG ROCK....

In regards to BB play with a regular CB they would have been even steven....with buddy trailing in at a close 3rd

BUT David co-owns the most ever break and runs on a BB with "Fat" Randy Wallace
28

Let me tell you that is such a huge F*KING NUMBER (pardon the french) it almost makes you want to cry....i mean come on! The rest of us are just humans....David is from another planet lol...

(David accomplishied this first...but Randy ran 28, missed then ran another 28 for 56/57 while in action)

In the past imop Dave was the best all around pool (or any game with a table and balls)player this side the world, maybe even the whole....national class 3cushion player (beat the canadien national champ)....made multiple total clearances in snooker...and we all know what he can do on a BB

He still is one of the best ALL-AROUND players in the nation...but he aint no spring chicken anymore either:thumbup::wink:

and a weird trivia fact about Dave.

- He can or at least used to be able to throw a golf ball clear across a football feild...shotgun for an arm

If you ever happen to be around him and need some banking and kicking lessons he's the man to talk to, that is his specialty. (gotta figure beating a 3cushion national champ lol)

made no difference

At the Red's tourn in Houston featuring Efrens 1st appearance as Caesar Morales, I was in with Keith playing 9ball on the bar table against Effie. Keith won the 1st set and Effie won the 2nd, we quit and played no more. Effie got no more bar action after that. Effie caromed in the 9 ball in what seemed like every other game.

I ran the bar rag shootout from '80 to '84. Keith came twice, placed 5th once & got barbecued every match that he matched up. Played $500 8-ball with Bill Mielke...never won a set. Allen Hopkins played as good out of his own pocket as anyone. Allen lost 9-2 to Buddy & never missed a ball. Buddy shot 1000. Many great bar rag players...John Shupit, Fat Randy. But the two best...Frank the Barber & Dave Matlock...we'll never know.

28+28 by Randy Wallace?
Who is this guy? Thats a jaw dropping number. Not just for the fact that it was accomplished but that he was able to find someone to play him for money and sit there and take 56 racks strung on him in 2 innings. Most people would break their cue down way before that happened.
