Looking for Bumber - A. E. Schmidt Cue

Aloha,

I'm looking for a bumper that will fit my old cue (NOT A BUMBER as I screwed up the title of the post). The cue is over 40 years old and I don't remember what the bumper looked like when I bought it in 1973.

I saw a picture of a Palmer on one of the threads here and I think it may work. Anyone have any ideas of where I can get a bumper that will work for this cue?

I haven't measured the diameter of the bumper hole yet, but it is pretty shallow...no more than 1/2 inch or so from the top of the screw. I'm not even sure this is the original screw either. My buddy who owned the pool hall I worked in as a teen used and held the cue for me up until a year or so ago and he doesn't remember what happened to the bumper.

I have Fred Schmidt trying to locate me a bumper. He has a cue almost just like mine but of a different color. In case he can't come up with one, I'll post a picture of his cue here to see if anyone has a bumper like it that they want to get rid of.

Here is a picture showing the measurement of the hole. If I wouldn't have been in such a hurry and trying to take the picture one-handed before my battery died, I would have noticed that using the other side of the tape measure would have been a bit better of a reference.

The hole looks "roughly" about 5/8ths or so and isn't very deep. I assume an old Mali-type mushroom bumper could be rigged to work. Any thoughts on this?
