#39: PA Qualifier

I thought Bobby Chamberlain qualified at this event. Do you know why his name is missing?

Not to take anything away from the other great names on this list but if Shane keeps playing in a lot of 14.1 tournaments it has to give a big boost to 14.1. He has a very largre following in the USA and after all he is the "All American Boy". I can see him eating apple pie now. Johnnyt

Good point he really has a massive following.

I TALKED TO CHARLIE WILLIAMS TODAY AND HE SAID MY NAME WILL BE ON THERE AND IT IS NOW 48 PLAYERS INSTEAD OF 64.AS FOR THE WHOLE ZION THING TRYING TO GAIN A CHEAPER WAY TO GET INTO THE WORLD 14.1 AFTER HE ALREADY HAS AN INVITATION I TALKED TO CHARLIE AND HE TOLD ME A RULE IS A RULE AND WHAT ZION DID WAS WRONG AND HE WAS GOING TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.I HAVE TALKED TO A COUPLE OF PLAYERS THAT PLAYED AT THE DREXELINE QUALIFIER AND THEY WERE VERY UPSET ABOUT PUTTING UP THERE MONEY AND EXPENSES AND FEEL THEY COULD HAVE HAD A CHANCE TO DO BETTER IF IT WERE NOT FOR ZION BEING A SCAMMER.CHARLIE SAID THAT HE TALKED TO ZION AND ZION CLAIMED TO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT IT,HOWEVER AFTER TALKING TO ANTHONY D,AMICO HE TOLD ME HE ASKED ZION ABOUT IT AND ZION KNEW ABOUT IT VERY CLEARLY.ANTHONY SHOULD KNOW ZION KNOCKED HIM IN THE LOSERS SIDE THE FIRST MATCH AND ANTHONY IS UPSET ABOUT IT.I AM SURE CHARLIE WILL DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT LIKE NOT ALLOWING ZION TO PLAY IN THE WORLD 14.1 IF NOTHING IS DONE ABOUT IT I WILL SEE TO IT MYSELF ALONG WITH SOME OTHERS TO EXPOSE IT TO THE WHOLE BILLIARD WORLD::frown::frown::frown::frown::frown::frown:

THANKS,

Kudos to you for taking up the cause to do the right thing. When I saw his name in from Drexeline and your name out, I thought maybe you had met Charlie in the parking lot. :grin-square:

There's talk of someone trying that at Red Shoes this weekend and while I like the guy, I don't like if they try to do that. Save his entry fee at our expense.

thanks for he response.my stats in pool speak for themselve.i really feel i am doing the right thing to expose zion.zion cheated me at the md tourney and tryed pulling some shit against me in pa and this time he ran his mouth at me when he was real close to me and we all know what that result would have been.i am a gentlemen and would never cross the line inside of a tourney, however the parking lot is always available.as for charlie williams goes he is very smart and i am sure he will weigh it out and make the right decisions.i cannot make the deision, however there are more people getting ready to talk to charlie and some want there money back from the qualifier since zion played and stole there chances from them.simply to put it my vote would be dont let zion play and let everyone know why and then charlie would get more respect from the pool world for standing up instead of just brushing it off.nick varner just called me and told me he couldnt play in a qualifier a couple of years ago because he was invited and the rule stood for him to and he agrees against zion or anyone else for trying what zion did.so if it stood for varner it stands for everybodys also.

Bobby, I happen to agree with your point on the qualifier but if possible could you please refrain from talking about violence? It really makes our sport look bad. I know you are upset about some issues with Zion but you lose my support when you bring violence into it. There is simply no place for this, especially not in 14.1.

Let Charlie deal with the situation. He knows what happened and will make a ruling.

steve thanks for the reply.it is an expression but i am game to it.you were not there to how this guy approached me period.at drexeline he did it again but to my face and another guy also so what would you say or do.now do you see what i mean.i do not intend to ever do anything unless i am cornered to do so and i have been playing pool for 35 years and it has never happened and never will so it is simple to say i have taken the honest approach about it.i know you and others are friends with zion and i tryed to talk top him at drexeline and told him to be friendly to me and the others and he became a instant asshole again so i said nothing and got back to the table and whooped him ass there.alot of people feel cheated that he tryed to snake his way not to pay for an invited entry and a ccouple intend on asking maidof and charlie williams for there money back from the qualifier and i dont blame them.steve you are a gentlemen and so am i but this zion guy put me on tilt.its over as far as i am concerned unless he gets in my face and says something stupid again.

Thanks Bobby

Thanks Bobby, glad to hear the tone is calming down. I do not know you personally but I am sure you have the best interest of 14.1 at heart. Thanks also to Steve Lipsky for calming the situation. I hope we are all professional enough to accept Charlie Williams decision and put this to rest. Charlie will make the right call!

Thanks and best of luck

once again thanks to someone else giving a shit about pool.the tone is calm to me.i dont think all of you know the whole situation from start to finish.i will be at the world tourney to play pool and thats it.the main problem will probably be taken care of by charlie williams.he is a very smart guy who has made a small living by running tourneys and without people running tourneys for us what and where would we ever play pool at.we are really hoping the appropiate action actions are done by charlie.so lets see it from this angle.dont let zion play in the tourney and everything is done correctly or zion plays and there are many players upset and this continues.lets see what charlie does as i dont really care however if the wrong thing is done we need an explanation and there are players that want a refund from the qualifier.i won the qualifier and knew in advance that zion couldnt play so i went to play knowing that.when i spoke to charlie and he already realized he had to do something and i am sure he will.zion knew exactly what he did and when asked by anthony d,amico before the tourney zion told anthony he was invited but was trying to get into the world tourney cheaper.rules are rules and they were posted in our emails from charlie and they go for everybody from all countries.

thanks and i am done with this,
bobby chamberlain

Tell you what: I have known Bobby for many years and he has *always* been respectful of others from the get-go, even when the others may have been undeserving.

I don't know what Zion did to Bobby, but if it got Bobby to go 'full tilt', then Zion is lucky he was dealing with someone like Bobby. I know a lotta folks who wouldn't have let it slide and would have pressed Zion to prove his conviction then and there.

I am sorry to bump this up, but WTF? How can an entry that is already taken care of by paid again?

From http://www.dragonpromotions.com/news/2009141news3.html :
while Israel's Zion Zvi went through the loser's side for his spot. But due to the fact he was already invited and thus ineligible for the spot, Zvi had to give the spot to runner-up in 3rd Maryland's Dr.Michael Frank . But in a gracious move, Frank had decided to sponsor Zvi himself into the main event and paid his entry! Very classy.

I HAVE said no more concerning zion and i wish him the very best.i have had many phone calls and emails concerning the decisions that charlie made.ok if you want my honest answer it is i dont give a shit to waste anymore of my time on zion.everybody has learned and are learning he is a piece of work and people are upset that he wasnt barred from playing this year.all i can say is what comes around goes around and all involved i feel sorry for and i wish everyone the very best and have no ill feelings anymore.as long as i have no more situations from zion than everything will be fine ofcourse, however the next time he purposely causes any problems with me i fully intend to take action.take care an GOD bless to all and play well.

Your friend,
bobby chamberlain
