Oval Shaped English Table

Spencers Billiard Works.

I have no idea what it is or how to play.

But it's real cool and old.

Anyone know what this is?

Fair market value?

Thanks,
Mark

With some particular felt it would make a nice card table... maybe even a nice craps table although the walls are a little low.

Not really a good card table bc you can't sit close to it with your legs under the table.

Can anyone expplain what this table is?

What kind of value?

Thanks in advance,
Mark in Houston

I thinks its simply a 3 cushion billiards table that's oval, they never became real popular.

Added some more photos

See original post. Added some photos.

What the hell is this thing?

Thanks everyone for your inputs.

We haven't found the exact table yet.

If you notice on the photo there are three pockets on each side in the ceter portion of the table.

And there are indentions on each curved section on both sides of the table.

Cheers,
Mark

The table is a BAGATELLE TABLE. A minority cue sport, you can still find table in the English Midlands - around Leicester and Coventry.

I used to play former World English Billiards Champion Mark Wildman on one in a social club in Leicester.

There are quite a few variations including a viaduct type device which is placed on the table where you have to play the ball through the arches (not unlike a Crazy Golf hole)

Thanks Pro9. But did you notice it has 6 side pockets? Kind of strange since all the ones I could find only have one pocket on each side. Any idea on a manufacturer, old literature or a set of rules for the 6 pockets? Also need new rubber.

Thanks in advance..

Gabriel Orozco , a mexican artist, made an oval table 15 years go . It was placed in a church , they were 3 balls, 2 whites and a red, no pockets . Cushions were snooker cushions . The red ball was hanged just over the table using a 20' steel cable , so was a pendulum when shot ... we spent an entire day to adjust the lenght of the cable...
it was a piece of Art called "carambole avec pendule" . I was lucky enough to be the 1st player to play on it : the artist asked me to make the official demo of this table (tv, journalists... ) . I have to say the gameplay was pure crap :) , even real fun .
