Hi all

Another cue to offer. This is a 1992 4 point Black Boar (Number 363). The finish is original and is in excellent condition. Small mark on the steel joint but otherwise perfect. The points and butt sleeve have been described to me as cocobola but I believe it is brazilian rosewood. 4 points with 2 veneers into lightly stained birdseye maple. 32 ivory inlays and two ivory bands. Original linen wrap. 2 original shafts with ivory ferrules, only very light play. Weight is 19.5oz with weightbolt, 18.8oz without. Looking for a quick sale at SEE LAST THREAD. Trades and part trades are welcome but I love cash;)

Very nice looking cue.
Wish I could jump on it right now being that I love the way the BB's play.
Good luck with the sale.

Yes its a great player, Myron. Isn't it about time you bought a cue from me? Everyone else has, lol! Payment plan is ok with good AZbers ;)

Nice!!

Si,

Gorgeous cue, sir!!! If things were a touch different, I'd jump on that cue in a heartbeat.

I AM picking up a Black Boar in a few months...and since you have one, you could probably answer this question for me, if you don't mind.....

What is the "white" veneer made of? Looks super bright in the pics (mine has the same color veneer pattern). Is it dyed maple? Holly (sp?) ?

Thanks much, and best of luck on the sale! Since Tony's cues, by and large, go overseas, this is a great cue for somebody to add to their roster!

Hi Mark

There is talk of some BBs from this era with ivory veneers but I haven't encountered one out of the 10 I have owned (Joe, Sean, help???). I believe mine is holly.

I do own a BB (one of the latest models with the newer logo) but always did like the older models.
Wish I could have 2 BB's but I am actually holding back looking for either a Searing or a hoppe style Hercek.
Both of the cues would be great additions to my current collection (Bender, Schick, Showman, Scruggs, Tascarella, and Black Boar).
Just not enough cash to do it all these days (have a home to build being planned).

I will gladly become a customer but I am limiting my search.
So any finds would be considered... :D

Si,

I heard something along those same lines (about Ivory veneers....but I figured that mine (and supposed that yours, too) would be holly.

Again, super nice cue, sir! Hope it finds a good home quickly.

Send me the Harley, I will send you a fancy Szam:D
LOL...
It might have to be 2 Szam's.
The bike has almost as much in extra's invested as the base price.
But I will never get that all back but I love to run the roads with this Black Beauty. :D

Yeah, there are some great driving roads in the U.S. I would love to do it on a bike. I had a blast driving through the desert from Arizona up through Nevada with the Eagles playing on the stereo and a pool cue on the back seat........CLASS!

Tony told me the white veneers were phenolic. Maybe not all. But the two that I have now are and my last one was.

I believe those were done with holly. Have not heard of any BB's at that time doing ivory veneers in that style of cue. That's not to say it wasn't done, though. That was basically a "standard line cue" from them.

Boy....long gone are the days of picking cues of that style up for $900-$1200...around 7-8 years ago, you could have bought all you wanted. It would sure be nice sometimes to see into the future, wouldn't it ??

Sean, if I was collecting 7-8 years ago, I'd have picked up all the fancy SW cues :D

Nice cue, Si!!! Good luck with the sale!

Come come now, weather cooling off, time for everyone to start buying cues again. We are all living off beans and bread, people! Sheesh, summer is rough!

BB down to see last thread
