I need help! I have a tournament coming weekend and next weekend and my ferrule broken.

Will OB1 warranty this... very odd that the ferrule will break and my shaft have never been misused.

Located in Houston, Tx.

Not a warranty job...but I can repair it with either a new factory ferrule & tip...or upgrade to a premium (white) unbreakable ferrule & premium tip. If interested...pm me for details. I can have it back to you before your tourney.

Ferrule broken

Ob cues, and Royce in particular are stand up guys, contact them. I won't mess with putting on another ferrule, since their ferrule is a big part of the hit of the shaft.

Steve,

Thanks for your comments and recommendations to Viet! As always, you are right on target. We believe in absolute customer satisfaction.

Joe,

Thanks for giving Viet that link! You guys got here before I did, and yes, it is covered by our warranty.

I had an email from Viet when I got to the shop this morning. I gave him a call and informed him that we would take care of it. He should have it back on Thursday, a day before his tournament.

Varney,

I called you this morning and got the machine; give me a call when you can. 877-399-9901.

Thanks everybody for helping Viet out! I just received an email from him that the shaft is now shipped, with tracking number. I should receive it tomorrow, and he will have it back on Thursday.

Again, Thanks to all!

I just don't get it.

Why would someone post this issue and pictures without having even contacted Royce or the dealer the shaft was bought from 1st?

Are you expecting that someone here is gonna call Royce for you?

:) I contacted them before I made this thread. I wanted to see others that have this shaft and ask if they think it was able to warranty it.

Corey,

I certainly understand the question in your post, but in Viet's defense, he did send me two emails last night before he started the thread. Unfortunately, once I leave the shop, I don't check my emails until the next morning, and that is when I contacted him.

I think that, to most passionate pool players like Viet, their "pool time" is after work and when they are out playing pool, which is usually at night. "Pool time" for those of us like you and I who work in Pool, is usually during the day when we are doing our business. I know that when we were first starting out, our phone number was my cell phone. I would get calls at all hours of the night because that is when people would see one of our cue shafts and have questions about them. I still get messages left on our shop phone from calls late at night.

I think Viet's sense of urgency is coming from his tournament he has this weekend and he just wants to have his problem fixed.

Thanks for looking out for us!

Royce and OB-1's customer service is at the top of my list. Their offer to help me even when it was clearly not a warranty issue went way beyond my expectations. Great product and certainly the way to run a business. I'm a lifelong customer. Only wish they made the other half of the stick too!
Does a Varney unbreakable ferrel & premium tip job carry a warranty, or was that covered in his reply above?

I want to clarify to those who may of read my above post and were confused. I meant that my work would not be a warranty job, I'd charge...not that I thought the maker wouldn't warranty it.

Yes...if you choose the unbreakable ferrule option, I warranty it for life.:)

Royce is definitely good peoples, and I for one am looking forward to the other half as well... I got to see a cue that Royce made a year ago and it was VERY nice... :p

Another example of outstanding customer service and belief if product. I have been reading the great reviews of your J/B cues. I like the plain Jane stuff.
Thanks Mr Varney!

That would be awesome if you made the OB1 Cue stick same look as the shaft to the end of the but.

NO DEFLECTION PERIOD.

I think I would buy it. :)

Theres an idea! "The Other Half Cues". With all of the shaft options these days he could just make outstanding butts matched up to his OB-1's or sell the butt supplied with unfinished matching joint/ringset and pin so you could get whatever shaft(s) you want made or fitted. I remember when you bought a stereo....it was one big Panasonic box with everthing in it. Now its a Pioneer Elite Plasma this and a Denon AVR that and Oppo DVD here and Paradigm speakers everyehere. So, Why not componet cues?

Hope to see you with "the other halfs" at Valley Forge in March. Just maybe there is a coco/birdseye/coco plain-Jane in the works.
