So today I met with a different seller and picked up some time capsule accessories for the gold crown. Keep in mind, none of the stuff from todays post is from yesterday. Seller said all this was purchased in 1965

-2 sets of chairs with the connector tables
-yellow wall rack (again, not the same one as yesterday)
-a set of centennial balls, look brand new
-10 challenger cues, all with the brown Brunswick KU bumpers.
-GC table and wall rack install manuals

I'd have to hurt the guy that used the built in ashtrays in my basement. But whoa, tournament blue chairs, how cool is that?

Appreciate the comments guys.

Here are a couple more pictures after I polished the chrome and cleaned the fiberglass.

I have a Gold Crown 1, just an awesome table. built like a freight train. The chairs and table are insane. Perfect condition. Rare as he's teeth in that condition. What a score.

The legs and stretcher of my GC need to be repainted to look as nice as the gold on the aprons. I wanted to match the original white as close as possible. It seems a number of people are using SW cotton white which seemed a bit off to me. I took apart one of my wall racks and had Sherwin Williams color match a spot that has been hidden for all these years and should have the most accurate, unaltered color. It turned out so good its hard to spot the new color. I have attached 2 pictures where I boxed in the new spot. Also a picture of the paint formula / code from Sherwin Williams. I will be doing the same thing with the gold color.

haha yup. I love old vintage stuff. May not play quite as good as the diamond, but it sure looks sweet.

Those chairs remind me of the transition in school desks when i was a kid . They went from stamped steel boxes with plywood tops and curved plywood seats to molded seats like those with wire basket type book holders under the seat and plywood top. I'm not nostalgic but that does bring back memories. All you need now is a mid-century house or split level.

Last week there was an ebay posting for GC2's. I saw pictures of the gold colored spectator chairs in the background. I contacted the seller and although they were not mint condition, he was willing to sell them. I just had him ship me the fiberglass seat pieces as the bases were very beat up and I have 4 mint bases. As you can see from the first picture, they were in rough shape from 40+ years of use. Cigarette burns, old chewing gum and all. I wet sanded and used some penetrol to restore the fiberglass. Turned out pretty good. Now I have 4 bases and 8 seats, 4 in blue and 4 in gold. Not sure what the heck I will do with them all... lol

Awesome work...

Takes me back to the 60's at the original Chalk 'n Cue in Joliet, IL

Thanks guys. I know I am going to get attacked for this comment, but I am very happy with my decision to sell the diamond for the gc. it was like being reunited with an old friend.
