Nice out from Earl

How many people on this planet would play that 2 ball shot? BIH, and he chooses that? 3 rails off inside "scooch" draw to bust the cluster. That's just sick.

I really don't think anyone else would have played it like this. What a stroke.

I might have played a safe- freeze up to the 5 and get the 2 to knock the 3 free.

I agree, pretty amazing shot. My inclination probably would have been to simply billiard the 5 into the 4/3 and roll forward with the cue ball hoping to have a shot. That's why I'm a banger and Earl is a champion.

My first thought was to follow the cue ball 3 rails off of the 2 in the side to try to break open the 3-4. That should might be available.

I feel special cuz I looked at the diagram and earl's shot was the one I saw. I am not that accurate with predicting the path after 2 rails so I'd be shooting it with the intention of either running into them directly or hitting the 3rd rail as earl did.

That's if I'm trying to run out.

For the money, I'd probably do a safe like koolkat. I don't think the 2 can run into the 3 directly or even off 1 rail. So I'd roll the 2 between the 6 and the rail, locking the CB up on the 5 and just hoping to leave the 2 within a foot of the corner, making the breaking (or short side shape) possible.
