I am not sure if these links have been posted before, but I highly recommend these drills that have been put together by Jorgen Sandman, Ralf Eckert, and Andreas Huber.

Thorsten Hohmann does a great job during these videos. You can tell how difficult the drills are by just watching how Toastie bears down on each and every shot. Enjoy - and if you get a chance - get with Toastie - he has the drill book in English - you can also get both the drill book and DVD at www.sandmanbilliards.com

BJDS,
Just a few observations:

#1 - Many thanks for posting the links, they are awesome. I have been fortunate enough to administer the PAT to a couple of pro players, and I ALWAYS learn something watching them perform (though they are NOT as good as Toastie.....who is?).

#2 - My only criticism of the PAT (which I believe is a fabulous system, the best there is), is that the final score will heavily depend on the difficulty of the table. If it's stated goal of helping to assess and rank the skill level of players is to be realized; then the equipment specs should be standard (a very difficult to achieve goal unfortunately....probably not realistic). Toastie is shooting on what appears to be a very loose GCIV.

#3 - his performance on the long shot/frozen to the rail drill is superb, even on a loose table. I've seen 14 out of 15 (very tight Diamond table); but I've never seen a perfect score until now.

#4 - the follow shot drill diagram at the start of the video was incorrect (it was from a lower level PAT drill, where you only need to get whitey into a fairly generous area near the corner pocket) - the actual goal of the higher level drill was to follow the cueball into the same pocket after the object ball. It is a VERY deceptively difficult drill (Toastie fails 3 out of 6 attempts, and appears a bit miffed; but it really is challenging).

#5 - FABULOUS performance on the frozen rail drill; I've never seen anyone "ace" it before; and I've never seen anyone use his strategy before - I'm going to do it his way from now on - it is obviously superior to the other strategies I've seen.

I'm especially impressed with how well he shoots when cueball is frozen to the cushion. Those type of shots are so difficult, they come up in game situations more often than you'd like and yet very few spend the time to practice them.

great exercises...too bad the soundtrack sounds like something out of a 70's pornflick :)
