Hey everyone, I picked up this Brunswick 9 ft. table model AR6100 and matching cue rack the day after xmas for $300.00, I could not be happier with this deal. Table has been privatley owned its whole life, never in a pool hall and is in great condition. I am wondering if anyone has ever seen a pool cue rack like this one, it has a Brunswick label on it and matches the table, I have not been able to find any like it on the web.

Brunswick Gold Crown I

Great Table and Rack.

I believe Brunswick came out with the standing rack in 1963 for a CG I, the picture of the rack and options is from a 1963 catalog.

The floor stand was optional, could be ordered to hold 2, 3 of 4 cue racks

Enjoy,
BBC

thankyou for the onfo bbc, this cue rack is double sided, looks exactly the same on other side. now i just need to practice more so i get better and find some players in my area to come over and shoot

My uncle has a '61 GC1 similar to this with the matching rack, only his rack is wall mounted. They were purchased seperately, but both found on eBay. $300 for that table is an absolute STEAL. Enjoy the table! :)

Thankyou Mr. Hoppe, I know that I found a real bargain, I was actually watching an Olhausen on craigslist, waited a week to get a reply, then this one showed up on craigslist and I was at sellers house 1/2 hour later to pay for the Gold Crown, which would have been my table of choice anyway. The seller did not remove ad right away and I had to wait 3 days to get the help I needed to pick up table, the seller could not believe how many calls he was getting, even offers to pay more for it. In a couple of weeks Im going to have new Simonis 860hr cloth and new Diamond cushions installed, I wanted to set it up to see how it played before new cushions and cloth. I also got 11 Brunswick 1 piece cues and a Wille Hoppe 2 piece cue, it needs to be refinished, but Im certainly not complaining. I also had to modify the wall along the basement stairs so that there were no obstructed shots, I have used the table all but about 5 days since New Years Day

Make sure you get someone to do the work that knows what they're doing BEFORE you give the OK to hire;)

Nice find, i got mine about a year ago off craigslist in the same condition yours is in.
Enjoy

My first choice if time and money where no object to have this table tuned-up would be you Glen, if you are ever up here in Wisconsin I would interested in having you check it out, do you post updates on where your headed? I talked with a few guys who said they could recover/recushion table and they just did not seem real familiar with Gold Crowns. I would have thought that anyone whos been doing this for awhile would be kinda familiar with them since they have been around for awhile, but thats just guessing on my part, I certainly do not claim to know anything about the industry. What I ended up doing is calling a pool hall in Milwaukee where I have shot numerous times and got the name and number of the guy who does their tables. As far as I know they play pretty nice and I would be happy for mine to play the same. I would open to recomendations that anyone may have, I checked the table mechanic section and did not see anyone listed for Wisconsin, I would also accept advice from RKC-Glen or any of the other reputable table mechanics on this forum, thankyou in advance.

Thankyou Mr. Bond, I was so excited that I was going to have a Gold Crown in my basement that when I went to look at the table the seller asked me if I wanted the cue holder and cues, I told him I was only interested in the table (rack & cues were included if I wanted them). When I got home I was on the web and saw a cue holder like I got with the table and realised it was a match to the table so I immediatley phoned the seller to let him know that I would be happy to take cue holder also, he was going to throw it away if I didnt take it. I think if you have a real piece of crap table it makes you really appreciate a nice one. I joined my friends pool team after not playing for about 25 years and picked up the old Fisher table I grew up playing on from my parents, I only had it set up for about 6 weeks, the table played so poorly that I burned it to make room for the Gold Crown, I didnt even think it was suitable to give away, it makes it tougher for someone to make the same mistake that I did now.

I do on occasion get up to Wisconsin a few times a year, once I get my 24' trailer I'll be doing a lot more traveling around the country, as it'll be set up as my complete work shop, and my truck will finally get finished and turned into my living area. I don't know who to tell you to call up in your area, I know there's guys up that way that recover pool tables, but I've never ran into, or heard about anyone that can recalibrate the rails on your table, one of the problems to installing modern K55 cushions is that the rails have to be cut back, and the sub-rail angle changed to fit the modern cushions. Keep in touch with me, as soon as I get caught up with Diamond and their new 5'x10' ProAm as well as their 9' billiard table next month, I'll be free to roam where ever again:D

That could be

The best deal for $300 I have seen anyone get on this forum .....period .

Yep, you hit a grand slam on this deal.

Here's a picture of my gc-1 and matching rack.

I only have the single one and it's the economy wall mount. :grin-square:

Your gonna have lots of fun with that setup. And if you can wit for Glen to come, even better.

Best,
Brian kc

Wow! That's the deal of the year. Cool table and I love the cue rack!!!

Thanks for the kind words guys. Sorry JDXPRS, not interested in selling rack. Glen, if you are going to in Wisconsin in near future I would definately be interested in waiting to have you set-up my table, I have questions about time frame, cushions, cost, etc., I would like to talk to you more about this but Im not sure how you would like to communicate about this if you would interested taking on this job.

Nice stuff Kickin Chicken, I hope you get to use it as often as Ive been using mine, Im jealous of all of your cues.
