The Peach City Open fired up yesterday @ Chalk It Up Billiards in La Grange, GA for a $3500 Added Guaranteed bar table extravaganza. There was a stellar field of 48 players that opted to come to GA for top payout of $1500. Some of the best bar table players in the south that are in contention are Larry Nevel, Shannon Daulton, Johnathan Hennessee, Randy Vaughn, Sparky Ferrell, Jesse Middlebrook, last weeks champion Randy Jordan, Billy Peay, Doug Young, Paul Turner, Stoney Stone, & Josh Roberts.
Day one was full of surprises sending some of the champs to the one-loss side. Jesse Middlebrook matched up with Michael Newsome in round 2 and Newsome proved he was worthy of the win by a score of 9-6.
Tour director Shannon Daulton faced off with Florence native Jason Heyward, who ran through him easily by a score of 9-4.
We played all day and throughout the night leaving us with 16 players returning on Sunday.
