Dealing With Barkcinnamon

Barkcinnamon listed ebay link to two leather jackets he was selling. On the ebay ad he had $300 or best offer. I offered 200.00 & he called me & accepted. I also bought the additional jacket . Money was sent paypal & I received the jackets & the one he stated was a COACH brand made in USA was indeed not a coach but a highly discounted Chinese import. I called him & he rudely stated he would talk to me in afew months. When trying to get some support from paypal on this fraud they stated that since I didn;t buy it on ebay they could do nothing. What Jim Holmes AKA Barkcinnamon did was refuse my offer on his ebay ad & then called me and accepted but technically it wasn't sold on Ebay. He supposedly has just moved from Queens NY to somewhere in Florida. Beware of this sleezebag! Heres link to ebay ad & his post on AZ which he immediately edited out.

I don't know how all of this will end up, but I will say that I have had many great transactions with Bark. Everything went smooth as silk. I would hold off the flame throwers guys until I heard the whole story.

Did you use a credit card?

If you used a credit card to fund your PayPal payment you can dispute the charges with your credit card company as item received different than described. Going through Paypal's dispute process as a buyer is never any help. Always use PayPal. Always fund PayPal through a credit card and you can never loose any money. Funding Paypal from a cash account offers you no more recourse than sending a cashier's check. If you used a credit card in this instance and would like to understand how this process works, let me know and I'll let you know. .

Not that it will help you any but I have also had real good and honest dealings with Barkcinnamon in the last few weeks, so I hope the two of you get everything straight.

He was paid with funds from a paypal account, so the credit card angle won't work but I appreciate the heads up. It's frustrating that paypal will do little of nothing in these matters. If Barkcinnamon would have talked to me about the matter instead of the line "I'll talk to you in a few months" & then hung up, we maybe could have worked it out. I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he might have made a mistake until the last phone call.

isn't he the guy that made all the stupid posts and brought up a bunch of 3 year old threads with stupid comments about them.i never took him serious enough to do any deals with him.maybe i am thinking of a different guy.

BINGO...... Thats him..

Thanks for the heads up, it's getting tougher and tougher to deal on eBay or with paypal. Call the credit card company or bank and they will credit your account as long as you've sent the item back, and haven't recveived credit. The first person you talk to may tell you to go through paypal, but they will get involved when you get to the right person that understands the problems with paypal & eBay being in this together.

I just did it myself so I know what they can do if they want to

He refused your official ebay offer and then called you afterwards to accept your offer. This was his way of ensuring you not getting a refund. Unfortunately you may be S.O.L.

Someone refusing your offer and then later accepting outside of ebay should raise a big red flag.

Curious if you get the same protection if using a debit card as opposed to credit card.

Another bad experience with Barkcinnamon

I had a cue posted for sale here and Barkcinnamon said "I'll take it, just invoice me via PayPal." I did so, marked the cue "Sold pending payment," and Barkcinnamon never paid. Of course I didn't send the cue without payment, but this also shows Barkcinnamon's character.

Yes you do. It's still either Visa or Mastercard. They get there money each time you swipe, so it does in fact still give you that protection. Hope that helps.

Weird, Barkcinnamon is still posting on this forum under different categories. He (or someone) has edited virtually all his posts and replaced them with dots...?

I was not part of this deal and won't make any judgment calls, but I did have a deal with another member of AZB (midwikkid - Dwayne Garfoot) that flat out ripped me off for a cue and still posts on this forum. Talk about something that can piss ya off! My only hope is to someday get to meet this poster in person... ;)

If that happened to me and the azz hat was still posting, I would haunt them and post about what a sleazbag they are after every one of their posts!!

Russ.......

Russ,

I did just that for quite awhile. Everytime he would post something for sale, I would bring up the story in detail. I haven't seen him in the Wanted/For Sale section for a long time. Now, he just woofs about how great he plays and about all the upcoming tournaments, so he can feel he's part of the pool scene, or some such nonsense. I complained to Mr. Wilson, but I understand that he's got more grief on his hands to deal with than this kind of nonsense. I just hate having my nose rubbed in it by having to see this THIEF go about his business like he never did anything wrong. Lots of big, bad folks sitting in Cyber World thinking up their little schemes... Oh well, what goes around, comes around!

Regards,

Steve
