Hmm, I've never heard the guy before. I found his website while I was browsing http://www.cueaddicts.com/hill.htm and http://thecuedealer.com/cues/cues_hill.htm

I called Mr. Darrin Hill that evening, he is extremely nice and very knowledgeable. He sent me pics of some of his cues. Although I've never seen his cues or play with it, I said to myself, well the guy knows what's he's doing and he said if I don't like the cue, I just ship it back to him and he'll refund my money. I was thinking, what the hell, let's give it a try. I paid him online and he shipped the cue to me the next day.

I choose the 12 points cue, 6 hi's and 6 low's African walnuts/Zheta wood? with 6 hi's and 6 low's ebony points. If has ebony forearm and buttsleeve and Zheta handle. It's the left on the pics.

I received the cue, got off work, and went to local pool hall. I assembly the cue, chalk it up, set up a simple shot and DAMN, this cue hits AWESOME!!! I didn't mean to keep the cue until I shot just 1 ball with it. I was saying to myself, What in the world, this cue hits TRUE, I shot several more balls with it, and I only can say, well I gotta have this cue!!! This is Awesome. I've owned several "nice" cues such as Josey, Blue Grass, Gulyassy and even shot with SouthWest, Schon and Scruggs, but this is Hills cue is something else. This cue feels GREAT, for me at least.

I called Mr. Hill and told him (in serious tone) that I didn't like the cue, he nicely said to me, well sent it back here and I'll refund your money. I told him
I was just kidding!!! His cue hits above and beyond my expectation. I let a friend of mine that kinda picky/doesn't appreciate other people's cue hit balls with it. The first ball that he hitted, he gave me that WTF look, (kinda funny) and then shot another ball and he said Damn, I like this cue, LOL.

Piggy bank Glen Rogers and Ike Runnels play with his cue. Good luck to you Mr. Hill, his cue is selling like hot cakes in Chicago area.

Sincerely,
~Steve

Good morning,

Yes, I owned the one on the left of the pics, 12 points cue. I think they start at $750, with no point and 1 shaft? not sure.

We got a chance to talk with Darrin up at the DCC and look at many of his cues. IMO, he is doing some of the finest work that I've seen for a guy who's just been building cues full-time for 3 years. His designs are unique and the cues play real consistent. He's a super nice guy and he stands behind his work. They are very much worth looking into.

Yeah, I told him if he can make cues like the one that I bought, he is definetly in the right track. I think his cues need some exposure in the South and West part of US.

I've shot and own many cues, mostly just looking for that hit and I found one. I mean this cue hits freaking SOLID, true and very sensitive. That's the only think I can put in word, at least the one that I got. I can't afford to keep it but I told my wife it's my bday and christmas gift :D

Darrin Hill's cues are truly players cues. I can't say it any better than the_saint_siwa did. It's only a matter of getting his cues into players hands so they can experience the feel of his cues themselves. That is why the are so popular in Chi-town, people can actually play with them, and once they do, they want one.

Don't know about that one but on mine it's a recut. It's the one on the far left, 6 points african walnut with 6 points ebony in it. What do you think?
